Let me be the judge who are the most idiotic, obnoxious fans (there's no clear winner or "loser"). If you think there's a difference between fans from or at OSU, MI, WI, MSU, Notre Dame, FSU, Florida, etc. etc. you are bias for some odd reason. There mere size of the crowd brings out the jerks everywhere, even at Northwestern.buckysportsnut wrote:Kind of strange that the most idiotic, obnoxious fans (OSU fans) are the only ones complaining about this issue, isn't it?

I think in general you have to look at the source here on this tOSU crap. These guys have been crushed by the UW the last three times Bucky went into the Horshoe. And, they had just been beaten to break their huge winning streak. Do you think their perception was a little off?
Also, do you really think these people were there all defenseless and people just ran at them? Does it really seem that likely.
That was an 8 pm game and we started tailgating at 10 a.m. Over the next 10 hours I saw my fair share of drunk, rude idiots on both sides. These were isolated incidents involving .01% of the UW fans and it got blown up b/c of boards like these.
If you want to be boisterous about your team in Madison and cant take the heat if people give you crap too, then there are places to avoid:
Breese Terrace -- this is one of the streets surrounding the stadium and some entrance gates, it's also a fraternity row where students stand out to the streets drinking prior to games... gee... enough said.
Regent Street - Regent St apartments (just southeast of CR stadium) -- People tailgating here are actually about 10 feet above the pedestrians walking to the game. If you wear the oppositions uniforms, cross the street.
The truth is if you come to Madison, be prepared to have people chanting "A%$hole, A^&hole, A#%^hole" when they see you. Just roll with it. It's a stupid tradition but it's been going on for years. For the most part its all light-hearted so have fun with it.
If I were a BG fan and wanted to make friends and still wear my Orange, I'd bring walk down Breeze Terrace with a sign that says, "We're from Ohio and we HATE the BUCKEYES too!"

I'm still rolling my eyes at the post on badgermaniac about "the best thing you can do is not wear your school colors, and nothing can happen to you". Then later relating it to leaving your wallet on the dashboard.BGis2005sUtah wrote:If I were a BG fan and wanted to make friends and still wear my Orange,
Um, yeah. I'll be there in orange, thank you.
Most of the Wisky fans I've observed here and on their site have seemed pretty cool.... but there are a couple of tough guys that need to check their egos at the door and enjoy the return of college football!

I didn't go to Oklahoma, but I read all the rave reviews about how friendly their fans were.
I think there are differences.

LOL at the Five Oh suggestion
Wear your Orange, don't be a jerk, and you'll be fine.I'm still rolling my eyes at the post on badgermaniac about "the best thing you can do is not wear your school colors, and nothing can happen to you". Then later relating it to leaving your wallet on the dashboard.

50 was at least half kidding. Myles Long(er) knows him (I don't, except on-line) but I think Myles would probably agree with me. 50 is a cop, so what he said is probably correct, especially about Giants Stadium, but far more prudent than most folks need to be.
Bring back the Bucky Wagon, and
ON, WISCONSIN!
ON, WISCONSIN!

Well what would you expect out of New Yorkers?BigAppleBucky wrote:Wear your Orange, don't be a jerk, and you'll be fine.

I still have faith that it'll be fine, I just don't get why it has to be an issue at all, even if it *is* less than 1%.

And I went to Alabama, Orlando, and Tampa, and ran into some great fans and some losers. There are jerks everywhere and sometimes you get lucky and don't run into many. I live in Michigan and scUMers say say MSU fans are by far the worst, Sparty says the scUMers are the worst. Whoever you dislike the most usually gets the vote for the worst fans.Schadenfreude wrote:I don't buy it.SW-MI Falcon wrote:Let me be the judge who are the most idiotic, obnoxious fans (there's no clear winner or "loser").
