NFL Alumni Watch Thursday Edition

Post by TG1996 »

We've got the thread about Josh getting some PT tonight, but I see Cole already has a 25 yard punt return to his credit in the Falcons' game tonight, early in the second quarter.

Janssen Patton and Khary Campbell also in action, fighting for jobs tonight.

Two straight incompletions in Magner's direction, after a 0 yard return on a punt. Rough series for Cole.

Campbell's tearing it up, though. He started at LB for the 'Skins, and at last check had two tackles and two assists.

Brian Brennan must hate Josh Harris. He is dissing Harris every play. It is incredible. For crying out loud, he gets flushed out of the pocket and then tackled. Brennan says "he needs to sense that pressure sooner and get out of there. Frye can do that, harris can't." Just one example. He did it like three or four other times.

There have been a number of times where Harris has not had much choice but to eat it & take a sack. He still looks lost though. He had a little better showing on the one drive, but I wouldn't hold your breath on him making the roster. He just doesn't look comfortable in the pocket and he doesn't look downfield.

I didn't see all of Josh's appearance. It is opening day of the college football season, after all.

But... I'm with Hammb. He just wasn't comfortable out there. :-\

Din't look good most of the time out there , did have a few good throws with the best one a bullet to the this Rideou guy. Josh lookes like he has TON of work to do to be a viable backup even for a while. He needs to settle down and learn to read the entire field better , he was apparently missing wide open guys down field alot.

By the way anyone notice the intresting University of Akron tie-in with the broadcast lastnight on channell 24 with the showing of the starting lineups. Intresting to see that along with the Charlie Frye lovefest the city is in.

University of Akron is getting some money somewhere to put the ads on televsion like they've been doing.

Speaking of which, I don't recall seeing TU do their "Brainy Bunch" ad this year.

Janssen was a roster cut casualty today.
