I agree with Grant. You people, and yes, I mean YOU PEOPLE, make me sick.
If these are BGSU fans, part of me wants new ones.
Does anyone want to give the defense any credit for stiffening up at the end of the game when they were no doubt exhausted and could have understandably been disheartened? Anyone?

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Wisconsin Proved Nothing
I with all of you in saying that the defense has been disappointing today. One thing I don't understand is why we aren't making any adjustments to stop the run. We've stuck to the 4-3 the whole game and they just keep pounding us into the ground.
Besides that I think two things can be said about today's game.
One - our offense is stronger than ever. You can tell that Jacobs is so comfortable in this system and he runs the offense to perfection. After the plays we've put up on Wisconsin, we should roll over mac defenses.
Two - Wisconsin is weak! They figured out after the first drive that they can't run their normal offense and score against us. So what do they do....... they rely on their big ten fat boys up front to open holes against our line all day long. Their quarterback didn't throw all day, and when he did Mayberry picked him off. Newsflash for Wisconsin... you are going to get killed this year in conference play. That won't last for a second against Big Ten teams.
Overall, we are going to be fine. Yea, it's not the upset win that we all hoped for but we played a great game offensively.

I'm telling you to settle. Deal.hammb wrote:Don't tell us to settle, because UW has one of the worst offenses we'll see all year. UT, Miami, and Boise are all better offensive teams.
You of anyone, Hammb, should understand.

Seriously, this kinda crap pisses me off. THIS IS YOUR TEAM. GIVE THEM SOME CREDIT. Yes, the D sucked. But you know what? Things can improve. Toledo did it last year, we can do it this year. If this is how its gonna be after every loss, even though the guys played their hearts out, and didn't give up, then I really don't wanna deal with it. There are a lot of positives that happened today, and I still have faith that we can improve and learn from our mistakes.
Not to be confused with Poptartin
I just cannot be as low key as Grant...I get into it too much. Unfortunately all my worst fears were realized today. I said at the scrimmage that our STs looked awful, and they looked worse today. I was afraid our defense would be as bad as last year and they were worse. I stand by my statement that UW is among the worst offenses we'll play all season, and this showing did nothing to make me feel more confident about the season.Bleeding Orange wrote:I'm telling you to settle. Credit
I'll give some credit to the D for the 4th quarter stops...I was more upset with the coaching than the players anyway. Changes should have been made.

Expectations were higher than ever going into this game. It's hard for a lot of people to say oh no big deal they tried. I know that some people tried but if that's a 100% effort I'm sorry we're in for a long season.
I agree the offense looked very very good today but I'm not much for moral victories.

The most eloquent statement of the day.

I won't.
We are not in the business of playing hard. We're trying to win. We made it abundantly clear that nothing less than the title was acceptable this year. This game, in no way, effected our ability to get that title, but it did paint a pretty good picture of what we'll have to work on to accomplish that goal.
Be a Fan!
Be a fan of the team. Quit telling each other how to feel about this loss. We lost. Every falcon fan in this forum has a right to their opinion. I love all of you who keep whinning about how you are pissed that people are down on our Defense. Did you like the way it looked today? Better yet, did you like the way our D was coached today. Get over it. People are going to vent and voice their opinions on here. It's a FAN FORUM. Get used to it. If it makes you mad then why are you reading it?
We are all Falcon Fans, and regardless of what is said on this board, we will all be fans next saturday as well. Quit bashing each other for their thoughts on the game. Let it go.

I think some of us are just trying to be realistic here. People are so quick to jump down this teams throat because of one loss - it just ONE LOSS. So, we don't go BCS bustin' this year. BFD. If Falcon fans aren't in this to support this team and watch them win a MAC championship, I don't know why they hell they are here.
As I told my Dad, I had high, HIGH hopes for this game. Just as high as anyone. But, I want to see my team win their conference and get to a bowl. Thats it. A win here would have been, and a win against Boise would be gravy. But gravy ain't worth much save for keeping your potatos warm...
