Magner Cut

Post by FalconFanKM »

The Falcons waived the following 18 players to get down to the mandatory 53-man in-season roster by Saturday's 4 p.m. deadline:

TE Mark Anelli
WR Brian Bratton
LB Michael Brown
FB Kevin Dudley
OT Shawn Draper
DT Anthony Herron
CB Byron Jones
LB John Leake
C Mike Mabry
WR Cole Magner
FS Shawn Mayer
FS Cam Newton
C Dave Pearson
OT Jared Peck
WR Will Pettis
CB James Thornton
DE Khaleed Vaughn
RB Jason Wright

In addition to the 18 players released, the Falcons waived-injured OG Michael Moore, who re-injured his shoulder in the final preseason game against the Dolphins, and placed LB Jordan Beck (foot) and OG Steve Herndon (neck) on the Injured-Reserve list. The promising rookie Beck suffered a lisfranc foot injury while returning an interception in the waning moments of the preseason win at Jacksonville.

The Falcons may establish up to an eight-player practice squad, consisting of rookie or first-year players, starting on Sunday, September 4 at 12:00 (noon). DE Klaus Alinen will be the ninth member on the Falcons practice squad as part of the NFL International Development Practice Squad program.
