That was one heck of a power running display. I have to admit I am sorely disappointed in the defense. I mean really disappointed. The tackling was not good....at all. That is disappointing. We did not really stop that running game once. I can see why the Badger faithful was geeked about Calhoun. That kid is a freaking stud of a runner. Give credit to Wisky...they were able to play their game and got the win. But I can't get over the fact how our d didn't step up. We MUST find a way to get better penetration. Granted, we will not see a line or RB like that the rest of the season but damn, man! There were times our guys had the rb's in the backfield and the poor tackling killed us. I underestimated Wisky and they were better than I thought. Could they win the Big 10? Possibly. One positive thing is the D never stopped running to the ball. Spielman made that comment and that was positive. "Yes, the BG D is overmatched but they aren't quitting." We'll see what Coach Lovett has in mind.
The offense looked downright scary. 531 total yards against a Big 10 defense....a great deal of that without PJ. I heard he had a couple bad ankles so BJ Lane, who played well today, will do fine. I don't expect PJ to play next week at Ball State.
I am really bummed but it doesn't hurt our chance at the MAC title. I honestly thought we would win this game but it ain't the end of the world. But if we're gonna win that title, our D simply must improve.
Cory Partridge is one tough cookie. He played a fabulous game. Sharon had too many drops...Sandman is awesome. Only 3 penalties for 28 yards and no fumbles. Kicking game? Needs work...lots of it. The good thing is we should take care of business in Muncie...and then have 10 days til Boise State. Then 10 days until Temple.
Get in the film room, get the mistakes corrected and get after Ball State!

Next week should give the coaches a chance to experiment a little with the defense. Obviously what we tried today didn't work. Going against a less-then-stellar offense like Ball State will hopefully help us work out some kinks.
Congrats to the Badgers for stuffing it down our throats and not letting up. Lots of times a team will have advantages over the opposistion but still think they did to throw the ball just to mix it up a little. Alvarez says the heck with that. You can't stop me running the ball so I ain't going to pass it just to give you a break. I like that philosophy. Take advantages of your strengths and the opponents weakness, especially when they match up like they did today.

Thanks for the kind words
I still expect a 7-5 type Badger season. I'm encouraged by the offense line, but the O-line has been disappointing over the last five years. If the next three games are good, then I'll get excited.
From my POV, the Badger defense was not as bad nor the Badger offense as good as the 56-42 final score might indicate. You probably should have the mirror image feeling.
One thing I forgot to mention in my other posts. That 45 second TD drive engineered by Omar at the end of the half, while galling to a Badger fan, was a thing of beauty.
