I don't want to read anymore posts tonight. I don't like the way our team gets lambasted when we don't win. I am as disappointed as anyone but seriously...BG couldn't deliver the knockout punch and Wisky came back...on their turf in front of their crowd. It seems like the Wisky fans think more of our team than some here...and that is too bad. It will be interesting to see how the Badgers do with that running game.
Like the one Badger fan posted...their O line was just too powerful. He made many valid points on why Wisky has won so many games over the last decade. They do this to just about EVERYONE...including the mighty Buckeyes. How many times has OSU beaten Wisky in the last 10 years?
The Badgers were better than I first gave them credit. They proved me wrong. I really thought we would win...and I predicted BG would win 41-27. We simply were overpowered in the 2nd half. Not much you can do when it comes down to simple strength. We will not see an O line that good again this year.
We will not see a back like Calhoun the rest of the year. The tackling needs addressed pronto. Special teams need work. It was game 1. We are still good enough to win the MAC. Give Lovett a chance to work on the issues as he didn't have much time getting to BG so late in the spring. It was one game....
But some of the comments I've read tonight are too much. Yes there were mistakes and the defense should have played better. BG still did better than every other MAC team today. Anyone else think any other MAC team's D would have done better than BG today? I don't think so.
IF our D is as bad as most claim, what about Wisky's D? BG had 28 first downs, UW 27. BG had 531 total yards to UW's 504. Each team played to its strengths. UW just made a few more plays than BG to win.
I can't wait to get to Ball State. This is a MAC game and we still have the horses to win the title.
One game at a time...good night.

Amen, Freak.
I only spent a few moments reading posts and got my fill quickly. I said it before and I meant it - we could lose all three OOC games and if we win the MAC, that's an awesome season. Am I happy the Falcons lost? No, of course not. I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that we could pull it off, that we had the opportunity to do it, etc.
Ah, nuts with it ... time to call it a night, like you said.
You know what, I'm still stoked that football season is finally here!

So am I. Today we had a great turn out for the Lexington Alumni watch party. At least 10 alumn showed up, Including an Alumn who drove from Louisville to watch with us. We had another couple who both graduated from BG, who came with their daughter who is also a graduate, and another Bowling green native who played football for BG in the 60's. Not only am I excited for falcon football to be back, but if this is the group that I can enjoy several games with down here in lexington all the better. Nothing beats being at the games in person, but today comes in a close second.1987alum wrote:Amen, Freak.
