Trev Alberts and my Wisconsin experience
Trev Alberts and my Wisconsin experience
Yes, it was disappointing that we lost to Wisconsin, but the most aggravating time of the weekend for me was making the mistake listening to Trev Alberts. Why does he have a job? I just don't understand how this arrogant prick keeps a job. Every time he opens his mouth, I believe I see Satan's face in there. I get tired of pointing out what he says to make me think this, so I won't burden anyone because I am sure you have heard it too.
Trev Alberts is a douche bag.
Thanks for listening. That was cathartic.

My original post was in regard to Mr. Douche Bag (he is no longer Trev Alberts to me). My opinion of Mr. Douche Bag has nothing to do with his opinions of BG. I just think Mr. Douche Bag is an arrogant prick and what spews forth from his pie hole is nothing but garbage. 90% of what he says is degrading to whoever he is spewing about. I do not understand why he has a job at ESPN. I find him utterly useless, yet I can't look away from this train wreck of an announcer.CapitalFalcon wrote:In association with my other post, what has our team done to show Alberts, Corso, etc. that we are more than just another Mid-Major?

Well, we haven't done anything this year to show we are anything more than a mid-major program. We went into a Big Ten stadium and watched our defence give the game away because our cordinator can't make adjustments. Until we start playing a COMPLETE game of football we will have to deal with their impressions of us.Originally posted by CapitalFalcon:

Are you blaming the defensive COORDINATOR? Novel concept - placing the defensive responsibilities on the defensive coordinator. Not too bad there Lyons (for a Poli Sci grad).

I'll say this, as an amateur student of the game ...
1) Our defense didn't seem to change much after the first half. Spielman noted that he wouldn've liked to have seen some stunts up front, which make sense given the amount of bulk we were giving up at the point of attack. Our linebacker appeared to be playing a straight read and react drop instead of swarming to the ball consistently. That clearly wasn't working, so adjustments were in order.
2) The above being said, I'm more distressed at the players who didn't make plays when they appeared to be in a position to do so.

Same here, I knew they would be able to run on us but I am really upset that the tackling problems have not changed a bit. I thought this new DC would stress things like that. Calhoun will break 99/100 arm tackles. On so many plays I thought we were going to stick them for minimal gain but...1987alum wrote:2) The above being said, I'm more distressed at the players who didn't make plays when they appeared to be in a position to do so.
