Some of you may remember the incident he was "involved" in causing the deaths of a family. The serious charges have been dropped and Mr. Hall will be playing his first game of the year against us. This is a big boost to their defense and will probably give them an emotional lift as well.
There is a rabid discussion on the boise board with some outsiders who question the decision to let him play. I'm not sure what the right answer is (if such an absolute exists), but I can see both sides.

Roll Along!
I can slightly see both sides, but it seems like the only "rabid discussion" is on the side of those defending his "right" to play (especially in the wake of a thrashing at UGA).
I don't know the facts, so I guess I can't form an opinion, but at face value, whether he was involved directly in the accident or not, it don't look purty.

As a BSU fan I'm torn on this one. I do know a lot more about the case that has been released (from sources at the DA's office). I think it is too big of a distraction. Things aren't how some in the media have painted it.
I mostly worry about the appearance of things. So, I'm inclined to think that he shouldn't play for that reason.
I just hope that those who wrote the articles in the news will retract the incorrect information once all of the facts come out.
Looking forward to seeing Omar and BGSU in Boise.

If the charges against the kid were droped, why then would you uphold a suspension based upon the previous charges?
There is obviously no finding of illegal activity, which resulted in the droping of charges, and or it is now pending a civil case that is yet to be filed, and untill / if those civil charges are filed, he should be free to play, as he is not under suspicion of wrong doing.

He was never officalliy suspended. When he was originally charged with 3 counts of manslaughter he reomved himself from the team because he did not want be distraction to the team (media etc). He continued to practice with the team and help the coaches pending his first hearing. When the main charges were dropped he decided that he wanted to offically rejoin the team.
Complex, but for the sake of simplicity, they have dropped the 3 counts of manslaughter, the driver of the truck, is chanrged with manslaugher (X3). The car that was hit by the truck was driven by a guy who made an illegal left turn in front of the truck was legally drunk and on Meth (2 weeks out of rehah, driving his wife and baby around). The driver of the truck was drunk and had already been convicted of using a car as a weapon.
Those are the known facts.
from there, there are 2 versions:
1) Cam Hall and the driver of the Truck were racing (this was the first report in the paper)
2) Cam tried to pass the slow moving truck and the driver sped up not to let him pass. Cam tried to slow down to get back into the lane and the driver wouldn't let him. (against oncoming traffic). Objects were thrown from the truck at Cams car. The driver of the truck swerved to try to hit (or scare) Cam. He floored the gas and went around the truck in his mustang. After Cam passed the truck a car pulled out to make a left turn onto the highway. Cam missed that car but the drunk driver in the truck T-boned the car, killing the family.
*Cam did not stop and is still charged with leaving the scene of an accident (a felony in Idaho) and wreckless driving.
He did however call the authorities.
*The passenger in the truck's testimony is to be that the driver of the truck said that he was going to race a mustang when he saw Cam start a legal pass.
Those are facts in a nutshell. I'm not at liberty to say anything about information that has not yet been released. I imagine Hawkins etc. know the same information and are making a decision based on that.
Hawkins, the AD and the school are really putting their necks out on the line on this one. And, No, it has nothing to do with wanting to win football games.
