Our D sucks, but...

Shouldn't the title of this thread read "Our Defense Sucks Butt"

?

well i dont pop my collar, but the term "pick 6" seems pretty common to me, not anything new. and also, don't kid yourself, our D sucks. the same team that didn't score against Iowa, scored way too much against us, and even if they got some guys back, it's Ball St fellas. if we don't improve on the defensive side, it's gonna be a disappointing season for alot of Falcons fans......
Cane, 17 BSU came off of turnovers.

Take a look at the box score and there are three to four items which stand out. Average starting field position. Their kickoff return yards. Average Time of Possession in the third and fourth quarters when BG was seemingly either turning the ball over or going 3 and out.
14 points were off of big plays. Some trickery was involved as I am to understand it. It's not like BSU was marching up and down the field in the first half.

The defense is a bit of a problem but they ARE improving. Don't kid yourself on that. Lovett hasn't even been on the job for seven months. Give him time. I still have faith in him.

I agree. Lovett deserves a friggin chance to get his system going. The bad tackling at Wisky did not surface last night. Yes, the D gave up some big plays and yards...they came up with the stops when it was needed.

We have almost 3 weeks with only 1 game at Boise....gives us time to look at different things and where changes should be made.

Ball State made some great play calls on offense. Give them credit for being prepared.

Our defense wasn't "lights out" against Ball State, but I will say this much, they made some very big stops when we needed them to. Granted, Ball State isn't as good as Wisconsin is, but I still felt we looked better on that side of the ball and I feel like we took a step forward.

I'm more concerned about our special teams, I hope we get them straightened out and soon. I also hope we do a much better job not turning the ball over. We were very fortunate to win against Ball State after four turnovers. If you turn the ball over four times, you usually don't win no matter who you are playing.
