BG Football & Omar Billboards Popping Up Everywhere

Post by Dayons_Den »

This should ring nicely with those of us who have been questioning/doubting the commitment to promoting the team and our award candidate.

As I exited to downtown Toledo last night for the Mud Hens game I was greated by a BG football billboard with a father and son smiling and ORANGE RUSH on the top with the ticket number.

Also, on Southbound 25, between Perrysburg and BG there is an OMAR billboard. It was dark last night so I couldn't make it out completely, pics to come soon.

There are reportedly more of these billboards in and around Toledo!

I was about to comment on how we should get some of those signs on billboards in BG, but then I realized that there ARE no billboards in BG.

The one on 25 says "Passes and Rushes and Touchdowns...OMAR!!!!"

The phrase is overlaid onto a pic of Omar mid-throw and it has various other things on it like a phone number for tix i believe. I couldn't get more details as I drove past saturday.

Over at the Turdledo MACbbs board they are all pissy because there is apparently one of these billboards right across from Rocket Hall or something like that. They are coming up with all kinds of wild ideas about why the billboard would be there. Sorry I don't have a link, but I'm at work right now.

I have seen three billboards around. The one near downtown Toledo with the father and son, the one on Rt 25, just south of 582, and then one more some where in Toledo. My son's CYO team played at the Glass Bowl yesterday afternoon. Sometime on the way there or back is when I saw the third billboard. Can't remember where exactly because I was too busy dodging the indigents lying in the street.

BTW, my son scored a TD and his team looked awesome in the scrimmage. :D

Now THAT is something I want a picture of, and whoever did that, deserves a giant pat on the back. Now every day Turdledo can look up and see Omar. Hopefully they start getting nightmares

The one in downtown Toledo: Exit 75 at 201B. As you merge onto Erie Street, it is right there bigger than life. Cant miss it.

"Omar!" is on Route 25 south, just south of the Route 582 intersection.

As mentioned above, I can't remember the exact location of the third one, but it seems like to was close to UT's campus.
