not only that, but had Scott not made a coaching mistake(IMO), and pulled siggy against Northern at home at the end of th eyear, we could have beat them, instead of tied, and had a chance for home ice still

they were our competition for that last home slot, and a tie meant no more than a loss for us, I have no idea why he didnt pull siggy, a win there, and I could have had home ice, would have at least given us a chance. We were in the running for home ice still with 3 games left inthe year, even with all those ties.

I don't believe that I've ever seen a coach pull the goalie when the game is tied. It just doesn't happen. There's a 2 point swing if you lose. Take that loss and you may just get an even stronger opponent in the playoffs. It's not worth the risk.

But it was, the way the standings were, a so we would have played MSU instead of OSU. WHich Is better for us anyway, especially last season with an overrated and sloppy Spartan squad. the suckeyes ran all over us, they were jsut too big. I realize that normally you wouldnt pull the goalie, but this was different. We wouldnt have dropped a spot anyway, so it didnt matter, and by not beating them, we locked ourselves out of home ice. IT was a win/no lose situation for us.

I understand what you're saying....however, right now, perception is everything. Especially to a certain sports writer who rarely has anything good to say about the team. It would have given him one more loss to wallow in and I, for one, get sick of reading his BS. He has, IMO, been one of the biggest detracters of the program over the last 10 years. I know this is a bit off topic but we need to help build this program back up, not tear it apart piece by piece.

Therefore, a tie was a good thing. And I still don't think that you'll ever see a coach pull the goalie when the game is tied....except maybe for Crazy Frank Anzalone.

dont get me wrong, since he took the helm we have gone forward exponentially and there is no one id rahter have in control right now. It was jsut a personal disagreement with his choice, which was also a good one, jsut not the best IMO, key word being opinion, err, key abreviation....
anywho, its jsut one of those gambles that soem ppl take and others dont, jsut a preference thing.

I think we are well on the way back to the top, and this season we will see a drastic improvement in performance and attendance

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

One of the coaches is on a recruiting trip to BC as we speak. A large # of great college players come out of the BCHL. It's good to see that we're recruiting hard there again. It's been a while since we've been able to recruit successfully from there, but with the Sigalets and now Mazzei it looks like we're starting to build a decent pipeline to the BCHL again!

I am still learning the game of hockey a bit better every year. The more I watch, the more I learn.

It is FAR from a boring game....I love the fast pace and non stop action.
