Jacobs #2 in Heisman list ...

Post by Warthog »

and he is NOT behind Leinhart

ESPN's Dan Shanoff's Daily Quickie:

"Quickie Heisman Watch: New data, new list. (1) Texas QB Vince Young; (2) B. Green QB Omar Jacobs; (3) USC QB Matt Leinart; (4) USC RB Reggie Bush"

Do you mean the Daily Quickie? http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/quickie

In the Odds and End in the right hand column.

Thanks Warthog, and I didn't even notice Hawk on there before. That makes me sick.

I'd love to see that speed and size Hawk has here, even if he's wearing different colors.

I think I'd be real tempted to put AJ in the top 5 or so players in college football.

Can LBs not be candidates for the heisman? I know he's got no chance in hell, but I actually applaud having him that high. He was clearly the 2nd best player on the field in the OSU/UT game Saturday night.

The guy's a playa, sorry if I don't subscribe to the theory that all players at OSU must be total crap.

There's no rule to say who can and can not win the Heisman as far as positions go. Hell, a kicker could TECHNICALLY win.

Just like there is no rule that a non-BCS player can't win the Heisman? :?

This year there will 924 voters for the award, 870 media outlet votes, all past winers 53, and one fan vote. Espn and si are not end alls.
There was post on the atlanta falcons web site by a person claiming to be a voter who has their current ballot, 1. Young 2. OMAR 3. Leek 4. dont remember and 5 reggie bush usc.

He says that in the spirit of the award Matt does not qualify becasue he is not an impact player, USC could easily win with out him. I tend to agree that team is great, and his individual performace is not what wins the games...Bush yes, matt no...and for the long horns Young is a real deal, just as is Omar.
