Toledo has played two home games...they had 20,000 some the first game and 19,000 something the second. The first was on a Thursday against a I-AA team and last night was played when the Mudhens were playing at home with a playoff sellout of 10,000 fans...I am sure this doomed any hopes of a good crowd.

I am looking for close to 24,000 for BG's first game...unless we get rain.

And to all you bubeye fans...their national title hopes are now gone, so leave your TV's and radios at home please and support your home team.

Not quite. still in top 10. georgia looks weak. LSU & Tennessee will lose...Notre Dame beat Pitt...Ohio beat Pitt,,UM looked bad against NIU Notre Dame beat UM so maybe UM is just terrible notre Dame will lose a game or several..PLUS they are going to lose to USC... Texas is good,but i personally dont think they will win their conference..too many teams for them to get through plus a conference championship....

basically what I am saying is losing to #2 Texas in just the 2nd game of the year is a damn good time to lose the game. OSU is good, they kicked texas's ass all night they just failed to score the 7 too many times and settled for 3 and it came back to bite em. dissappointing but an impressive effort. Tressell will fix that problem. its wide open and too many teams in the 8 spots ahead of OSU that DO NOT look too impressive.

by the way i am still waiting for Florida to play a college team instead of these glorified high school teams before I get a read on how good Meyer's boys really are.

I do it mainly to piss you guys off because you in fact talk about them more than I do. you people get so pissed off at people who like both teams you make them root for OSU more.

college football has two different worlds..mid majors, and majors. majors win national titles, mid majors only win conference titles and crappy bowl games.. Utah proved that the two worlds are comming closer together but with the MAC going 0-7 v. Big Ten 2 weeks ago it shows how far apart they really still are.

a great deal of the people who like michigan and OSU can be, will be and are fans of BOTH BG and whichever other one they choose..i happen to choose BG and OSU...J4H likes michigan and BG,

people dont go to colleges for their football team, if they do that is flat out retarded. if that was the case i would have went to OSU. I wanted to go to business school at BG.

I was a frsshman in 2000 when the team sucked. I was still there for every home game and 1 away game. I never missed a home game as a student. I have been to several away games including a trip all the way out to NIU So dont tell me i am not a BG fan.

I grew up an Ohio State fan I am not going to give that up just because I went to BG for something other than the damn football team. I actually went to school for an education, sounds like some of you probably did not go to BG for an education. Your choice I guess.

BG plays ohio state every once in a great while. I can cheer for BG to win MACC and OSU national titles. Thats the way it is with me and a lot more people associated with BGSU then you are willing to accept but it is a fact and you have to accept it and get over it or be prepared to whine and cry bitch and moan for a long time until the NCAA gives people a reason to pick one or the other.

Listen teke, being a fan of both schools is fine. The only reason that I called you out in this instance, and the reason that a lot of other people give you crap is not because you can't be a fan of both, it is because for a lot of people, this is one place they expect a bit of refuge from the media onslaught that surrounds OSU in the state. It gets quite annoying when your favorite team not only has to take a back seat to a program like OSU, but in most places outside of Toledo doesn't have a seat at all. I feel lucky that I no longer live in Ohio and don't have to see this on a daily basis - it is depressing when you truly care about your team.

Funny thing is, out west here, this totally isn't the case. In Arizona there are three major state universities - the University of Arizona (flagship, thank you!), Arizona State University and Northern Arizona. The latter actually plays ball as a DII school, but not one of these schools totally dominates the others in state presses. Regionally it may be different, but its kind of refreshing on the whole.

I understand your point of view that there are "majors" and "mid-majors" and all that - I just totally disagree wtih it. If these schools were in different divisions, then there would be no arguing with you. The fact of the matter is that BG, UA, KSU, OU, MU, UC and OSU are all DI schools. The only reason there is a disparity between them is because of perceptions like yours. Now, I'm certainly not singling you out, but if BG's, KSU's, MU's, etc. students won't change this perspective because they "grew up Buckeyes," then that is a sad commentary on the youth in the state. No one realizes that the more exposure your school gets, the more your degree is worth because it becomes more recognizable. When students of any university put that school behind another school because it is a "mid-major," they are only devaluing the piece of paper they are working 4-5 years to get. Its sad. If all BG is playing for is a "mid-major" conference championship and a crappy bowl game (you obviosly didn't enjoy the hospitality of the Mobilians last December), why the heck do our guys even suit up to go play the OSU's, Wisconsins, etc.? Do you really think they are there just to play the role of a stepping stone to a national championship?

So, in short, please be a fan of both schools. Good on 'ya for it! Just do it equally and don't belittle your own school because of it - you and your classmates are the only ones that will be suffer for it in the long-run. And please understand that there are real reasons that talking about OSU (when it doesn't relate to BGSU) bugs some people.

Hey- I don't know where you grew up, but I agree with Bleeding Orange. I am sick of hearing about tOSU when we have a true Heisman candidate only 1 hour away and we don't even get the results in our paper. That is the reality we deal with and makes us so SICK of the bucknuts.

Now, IMHO, if you were truly a fan of both schools, we would not be seeing quotes such as you stated above. How denigrating to BGSU. Did you go to Ford Field? Did you go to Mobile? Neither were crappy bowl games- we were very well treated. I have seen some pretty poorly attended ones on TV that feature "Majors", but I guess they are never crappy are they?

Hey don't bring me into this. I don't bring up Michigan in half the threads I participate in and I certainly don't razz on my alma mater in order to praise or defend Michigan. In fact, I rooted for NIU against Michigan because I love the MAC.

I could care less that you like OSU. I just get tired of seeing BG get put down by OSU fans every time somebody makes a disparaging remark about the buckeyes.

not too mention we should be worried about how bad we have been playing and not how osu lost to texas. I think BG is going to have a very tough time winning the MAC this year if they play like this. We are gooing to lose atleast 4 games if this crap continues. One of those losses will be to some crap team that is going to suprise us.

So maybe the SOU slam should have been dropped, but it wasn't. While I disagree with his assessment of the game I do agree they (OSU) will get better as the season goes on. And we will get better as the season goes on. Thats why the games are played on the field, so teams have the chance to imporve.

I wondered how long it would take for this accusation to pop up. I am glad you know so much to stereotype anyone who speaks positive about OSU into scarlet and grey wearing, anto-BG supporting people. I am sure that is what you think about me as well, and I really don't give a damn. Until you meet me face to face and not behind a screen name will that agruement have any weight with me. Some of your other posts I totally agree with, but your judgement and questioning of my loyalty goes way to far. Were you in the stands for Falcon Football since 1995? Did you sit through each game of a 6 year loosing streak? Do you support ALL Falcon Sports? While at BG I attended at least 1 of each varsity sport, what about you? So before spouting off about how someone you don't even know chooses to support anything maybe you should either get to know them first or keep your mouth shut! GO BG!!!!!

I don't assume that based on your posts. In general you defend OSU based on OSU -- not based on slamming BG. I've got no beef with that. I've read Teke slam BG almost every time he defends OSU and that is what bothers me. I've said many times that I realize it's possible to be loyal fans of two schools. This just doesn't seem to be the case with Teke. Again, I use the word seem. This is an assumption I am making based on the information available to me. It might be wrong, but it isn't [vulcan] illogical [/vulcan].

And yes I do support all falcon athletics and have been to events for almost every falcon team.

The only losing season I sat through was 2000 because that was the first year I was introduced to falcon athletics. I will proceed to sit through any losing season from here on out.

Listen ITJ, there is no flaw in the logic. I already dealt with your pointless claim in my first post in this thread. Our good friend redwingtom was talking ABOUT BG and the idiocy of OSU/BG fans that sit there with radios during our games or leave to go watch OSU smoke San Diego State or something.

Seriously, I have a lot of fun joking around and arguing with you, but you really just don't make sense here, and don't you dare tell me to read things before I post about them when you can't do the same. If you had actually took the time to READ and INTERPRET redwingtom's post, you would have seen that his reference wasn't to the Buckeyes directly.
