Speaking of travel plans

Post by 1987alum »

After a long, painful process, I finally purchased our tickets for the Ohio University game. Long story, but let me say that, as someone who has chastised our ticket office before, the guys on the phone were really terrific.

So the flight is booked. The hotel is booked. The rental car is reserved. The tickets are purchased. Now all we need are two OOC wins and The Streak can continue.

:D

No, the odyssey actually spanned more than a week. Like I said, long story. But both guys were great and went the extra mile.

That is good news to hear on two accounts. First, that you guys will be at these games, and two, that the ticket office seems to have a more "fan friendly" tone going on. I hope this is the trend. I know a lot of people in the past felt the service was not very, welll, friendly in years past, almost like they felt like they were dealing with people who were being put out by having to answer questions and explain things. That's certainly not the type of attitude we need, especially from a ticket office. My thought on that is, if I knew the answer to the questions, I wouldn't be asking them. Anyway, I am glad you guys have had some good experiences recently.

I would also add that the last time I went to the ticket office I came away thinking to myself, "Man that was the smoothest transaction I have ever made at the ticket office"

This was last week turning in my flex plan tickets and buying Ball State tickets.

Didn't even give me slack trading flex plan tickets for the Toledo game (saving a ton of dough).

I bought my tickets for the Akron game on line. I've done that several times in the past and it seemed to work well.
Incidentally, can someone direct me to a site where I can get an inexpensive 'something orange' for the game? I understand it's the 'orange out' and I own NOTHING orange. (Lots of Red/White.)
I've worn my Miami stuff in the past when it's cold and that's all I have but I believe in the 'When in Rome...' credo. Wouldn't mind buying something BG as I make at least one game a year to see my second favorite team in the MAC.
One more question...does the band play a warm-up concert before the game? The last game I attended they played a mini concert before the game and I enjoyed that quite a bit. Got to see them play at PBS at a Bengals game, too. Will enjoy seeing them perform again. Take care, all.
