Calhoun had 89 yards in his first 11 carries against us, with a TD (and a three-yard loss added in there). He had 3 carries for 5 yards before Stocco got knocked out of the game for that stretch late in the first.


This post has no value other than to state some numbers. In fact, I don't know why I'm bothering with it as it will soon turn into a OMG TEMPLE IS GOING TO BEAT US fest, and I'll probably end up putting a kitten in the microwave while the rest of you climb out onto the ledge about our run defense. He had a 29 yard run. His longest against BGSU was 20. (Edit: 23)

Barry sat a lot of starters early and asked the officials to be slow on the play clock (letting the game clock run longer between plays).

Wisconsin used every able body in the depth who was not on the scout team. In a game like that, there's no point in scoring 100 points. RUTS like that causes bad blood and could lead to injuries to key players.

In my non-expert opinion, the BGSU defense was at least a tad better than Temple's.
