BG Sports Fans - let's get our iTunes feed back

Post by Tech83 »

Plese send an email to WBGU Genreal Manager Steve Merrill at [email protected]

Here is what I wrote and why I am not happy with the loss of an iTunes feed.......

Mr. Merrill,

It was with great disappointment that I tried to tune into the WBGU last night through iTunes and I couldn't. Quicktime is fine, but it anchors me to my computer and greatly reduces my opportunity to listen to the station.

Using iTunes, Airport Express, and a set of powered speakers allows me to listen to my music collection and internet radio (through iTunes) anywhere in my house. This, until lately, included WBGU. Now I am anchored to my computer and my listening experience is greatly reduced.

I hope you can bring back an iTunes feed so that many of us internet fans of the station can continue to enjoy WBGU throughout our homes.

Sincerely,

Tech83 (yes - I used my real name and address in the email)

I got a response today from Stephen Merrill. He is having the Technician look into resolving this issue. He said he would have an answer shortly.

Has anyone else email the station?

Nope, just thought I would sit back and enjoy the rewards of all your work. :D You're doing a great job for us mac users. Of course I don't have all the fancy toys and set up that you do. regardless of their broadcasting, I will still be sitting in front of my iBook to hear the game, just hope I get to do it with itunes

I would think there are some Windows users with iTunes that have an airport express and powered speakers....

Anyway, what are funding requests for if you can't slip in an airport express and a set of powered speakers.....see I need 400 white mice, twenty 200ml beakers, dry ice, a gross of test tubes,an airport express, a giant "laser", some hot pockets, and a really cool chair.

You might be interested in some software called Airfoil, which allows one to send audio from any application (i.e. not just iTunes) to an Airport Express base station. Very handy (but not free).

You'll find it here.
