Toledo and Iowa State to play home-&-home
Toledo and Iowa State to play home-&-home
Toledo continues to rack up BCS teams to come to the Glass Bowl. Whether we like UT or not, they are a solid program, which proves good MAC teams CAN get BCS schools to play in their stadiums.

GO BG!!!
We'd have no problem bringing in BCS schools if we could fill our stadium on a weekly basis.

Another deal, another mediocre opponent for UT in the tradition of Kansas, Minnesota and other teams who are middle of the road in their own conference. At least it's not a I-AA, Temple and a third place WAC team as their brutal schedule calls for this year.
Meanwhile, BG plays Ohio State twice in three years, the Oklahoma Sooners and will welcome Wisconsin to Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Iowa State Cyclones in the Glass Bowl or the Badgers at Browns Stadium? No contest.
This is a far, far more attractive schedule for recruits IMO. We also schedule the Pitt's, Purdue's and Missouri's of the world, but the difference is that this athletic department and coaching staff like to challenge themselves against the best as well.

Only if you take what is said at face value. We've been struggling for years to get the athletic budget into the black and we've finally done that with the help of large payouts from playing at BCS schools. Much larger than we could garner here even with 30,000 plus in attendence. I doubt that we'll give that up until we're so far in the black that we can afford a home game with a BCS power. Meaning that we can pay THEM what they want.Falconfreak90 wrote:Don't blame the AD for that. He has tried to get BCS teams to come to the Doyt but nobody will sign a deal.
