more than 600 yards?! I know Omar is good, but I don't think he'll throw for over 600 yards on Boise

The school record is about 479. Brian McClure, versus Ohio, 1985.

May have to throw for 600 yds for us to win this game. I hope to God this doensnt' happen , but I see us stinking it up again on national tv like we always do. With the kind of offense Boise will put up in this game, they will only have to stop us 5 or 6 times and its a total blowout. We will have to score each and every time we have the ball , hopefully starting out with it from the very beginning, cuz remember guys we have no defense as far as I'm concerned at this point. Its going to take Lovett a good long while befoe he has a handle on what our guys can do and where to put them to make out D respectable.

Really? I don't recall him throwing that much during the last game of the season, but there were a lot of career and season records broken that day.

Two memorable moments from that game...

1) Brian completing a pass to his brother, Bill in the fourth quarter. Nice, touching moment. I remember Stolz saying it was the only thing Brian had ever asked for during his four years.

2) The stadium announcer (this game was played in Athens), after spending most of the day talking about all the records BG had broken during the contest, saying "Here's a change of pace. With that play, Ohio University has broken a record ... for most kick returns in a season." Took us guys in the press box a few moments to really appreciate the humor in anyone taking pride in that.

FWIW, Omar has a real shot at this record Wednesday.

Dude, are you manic or something? How can you end your post with such a positive and optimistic exclamation when, remember, we have no defense as far as you are concerned? You continually amaze me with your utter lack of logic.

Because you obviously can't tell the difference from my opinion on what I truley believe will happen in the game and what is actually in my heart hopes will happen. The meat of my post is just me taking off the massive orange glasses we all have and looking at the upcoming game at a realistic standpoint. Please dont get all tied up in knots over this. Your smarter than this I know.

Now, if he would have had the foresight to make his "only wish" in four years that his coach wouldn't hang the team out to dry the night before the bowl game, would he have taken back the pass to his brother?

Well, McClure probably assumed that his head coach wasn't one of the biggest a**hats of all time. Go figure.

I can still see Stolz, usually the picture of low-key, blurting out after the Ohio game, "This is the greatest team the MAC has ever seen!" Contrasting that jubilation with what I saw from the team immediately after Stolz's announcement still makes me sick to my stomach.
