College Football Encyclopedia?
I have heard so many announcers put a plug in for this ESPN College Football encyclopedia and I was just wondering if anyone here has looked at it. If so, is it as good as all of them make it sound? I would like to try and get it but I just want to be sure that im not waisting my money.

It's probably got some great information, but likely loaded with "major" talk, and if it's from ESPN, I'd be incredibly wary of it. They turn out crap like Wendy's puts out french fries.RossfordFalcon wrote:I have heard so many announcer put a plug in for this ESPN Collge Football encyclopedia and I was just wondering if anyone here has looked at it. I purchased the book and I am happy with it. Much like a Baseball encyclopedia that has 4-6 pages devoted to every D1A team and the Ivy League. Has 2-3 pages of written info. as well as year by year scores and results for every team, bowl game, All Americans and final Heisman Votes, as well as Final Polls. Even a color section with a showing of team's helmets- our airbrush one makes it for us.
BG sections I'll summarize but these sections are pretty good little paragraphs:
Best Player- Brian McClure
Best Coach- Doyt Perry
Besst Team- 1959
BIggest Game- 1991 Cal Bowl
Biggest Upset- Pair of PUrdue games- 72 and 03
Heartbreaker- 82 Cal Bowl
Stadium
Rival
Nickname-Doc Lake story
Mascot- freddie and frieda
Uniforms
Lore- snippet on playing military instilations (Grosse Isle Navy et. al) during WWII
Quote- Ay ZIggy Zooma
Big BOld Quote- "Doyt Perry is not only the greatest football coach from Bowling Green, but also the most renowned person affiliated with the school's athletic program"
Alos has profiles that include demo data, best of times, worst of times, distinguished alumni, fight songs, records. Also lists year by year rushing passing and receiving leaders for each team back to 1947.
I think it is a pretty good resource. It's like having the stats out of all program's media guides.
I'd be happy to post pics or whatever if people have questions.
