First of all, I can't really stand Notre Dame. I respect their tradition, but I get tired of people claiming their love for Notre Dame, as its usually front-runners, in my experience. Maybe its just the Irish-Protestent in me...
Anyhow, give the fact that in two, count 'em - TWO weeks ND has jumped from FORTY ONE in the preseasong polls to TEN this week, if they win out, do they play for a NC this year? Bear in mind that they play USC (at home, I think).
For the record, I am completely dumbfounded by this jump in the polls - I don't care who they've beaten. It really should be investigated. It won't be - but it should.

If ND runs the table, they deserve to play in the NC. Beating Michigan and USC in the same season is in accomplisment in itself, as much as I dislike the Irish.

Everyone said the exact same thing when the last "savior" of Notre Dame football, whom is currently with Washington, took over and won the first eight games he coached. Hell, he even beat Michigan and Pittsburgh in his first 8 games too. Shucks, Ty even beat powerhouses Florida State, Michigan St, Purdue, and Maryland and was unable to complete the run at the NC. ND so nicely went 2-3 the remainder of 2002. ND followed up that great season's end with 5-7 and 6-6 records the subsequent years. Consequently this next "savior" was hired to bring ND back to the promised land. And now, just two games into the season and history is repetaing itself. ND has a very long and difficult road ahead of themselves. Talk to me after 6 more games to see if they can even get to Ty's 8-0 record in his first year at ND, then maybe we can talk National Championship chances.

The way USC is playing right now, the Irish don't have a prayer.
The only team I see beating USC is.....USC. Themselves.
Kenny Roda, WKNR in Cleveland, thought USC was acting too cocky.
63-17 and 70-17?? I think "Swagger" is the correct term. They look unbeatable at this point. Clearly the fave, IMO, to win the NC.
ND will not run the rest of the table.
