Tribute to Aaron Richardson

Post by BGSU33 »

I'm sure this in being looked into already, but it would be great to see us wear something on our helmets or uniforms for the rest of the season for Aaron. It's sad to think of this happening to anyone, especially someone who had this happen when they were literally following their dream. I am so glad that he officially "made" the team, because he got to accomplish what he set out to do. Thoughts and prayers go out.....

Most teams do this by wearing the player's number, but the terrible thing about this is that he probably did not even have a number assigned to him yet. I am sure they will think of a way to honor him....this is just so tragic.

A number is not needed. They can also use his initials.

I'm sure our coaches will do something to honor this young man.

It is such a tragedy that someone with such a bright future is no longer with us.

Football Team Tribute to Mike Richardson

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Gregg Brandon, head football coach at BGSU, attended Mr. Richardson's wake on Monday and presented his mother with a Bowling Green helmet signed by the team.

The Falcons also will wear the initials "AR" on their helmets this season in tribute to the young man.

I was hoping they would do something of this nature so I am definitely glad to see it. I know he never really got to play but he did reach his goal of playing for BG and he deserves this.

I hope at the Ball State game on the 16th that we have a moment of silence to honor Aaron. There have been several people that I work with that have expressed their sadness is hearing that a young man with such a bright future has died.

I really liked what NWLB brought up about naming a/the practice field(s) after him. A nice tree with a stone and Aaron Richardson Practice Fields would be a class touch.
