...not getting of to a quick start is exactly what this team needs to win on the road. I am praying, because it has been a looooong time since I've seen this offense sputter like this in the 1st half.
Maybe Brandon won't yell at and pump up the defense at the half, but something tells me that he will yell at the offense...
Maybe, just maybe...

There is still alot of football left to play this season. Coming into this season, I wanted one thing as a fan of Bowling Green football - a MAC championship. I was hoping for an undefeated year, Omar to win the Heisman, etc., but I really want a MAC championship. We have every facet of the game to work on, but we still have the abiliity to win this league. It is still probably going to come down to the final 2 games of the year. If we improve by then, we should be in the MAC championship game.BourbonFalcon wrote:Yeah, but I'm tired of keeping hope...somebody wake me up for next season!!! Yeah but that lot of football thats left is against some of the worst teams in the country. Ohio, Miami, and Toledo scare the hell out of me and we'd be lucky to win 2 out of 3 and if i was a betting man I would keep my money out of the middel for those games. Even if we win the MAC, I think tonight we proved that the MAC is a pretty weak conference and shouldn't even sit in the same room as the rest of division 1 football conferences. I'd like to sincerely apologize to the rest of the conference and especially to Ohio for embarrassing the hell out of everyone. Thank the heavens that Ohio kept the MAC on the map this year and I hope we didn't cancel out any progress made by them for the MAC.

BGgrad01, I'm honored to have you reply to my thread, wrong as my feeling may have been.
Bourbon, not so much. I really don't mean this to be a personal attack though it may sound like one, but anyone who wants to appologize to OHIO UNIVERSITY after last week has simply been smoking too much of some illegal substance. We didn't embarass this conference. We lost to a very, very good team who had lost two games to two other very, very good teams and were basically playing football like a a tiger who hadn't eaten in a month would hunt wild deer. You really need to get a grip on things, or you and the many people around here who are expressing the same sentiments as you are in for a long life...

I really don't mean to be such an asshole or negative about BG football. I've tried to keep a good attitude after the Wisconsin game, but the truth of the matter is that unless we figure out how to upgrarde our playing style we won't win the MAC. And I know that many of us on this board wanted to be thought of as a major program in college football. This season we've been presented the opportunity to build upon that reputation and severely ruined that chance to be recognized as a good program by the rest of the country. I as much as the other person hates to admit, but in college football it is what the rest of the country thinks that will get you places. Right now the rest of the country thinks that we are overrated deserving of none of the publiciity we've recieved this off season.

Wow! Way to redeem yourself (in my eyes, which probably doesn't matter much around here anymore), Bourbon!BourbonFalcon wrote:I really don't mean to be such an asshole or negative about BG football. I think that this is exactly how we are all feeling right now. I know that I certainly am. Personally, though, I'm just not willing to get down on the University that I love so very, very much at this point. The coaching staff may not be working as well as we all had hoped and rightfully expected, but these players are out there working their butts off, and I guarantee you that they are more frustrated and pissed off than anyone who posts in these forums. I guess that is where I'm coming from. I hope people don't think that I'm trying to post with a "better than thou" attitude (I've gotten that feeling), because it is only my love of BGSU that won't allow me to participate in this deriding of our program.
I should probably go find a sinking ship, but if its brown and orange, I suppose I'll follow it down. I don't feel that way about this team in the least, but I fear that is what many think of my attitude at this point, and I am sorry for that.

Your optimism is really an admirable trait Bleeding. I used to be an optimist about BG football until this year. Maybe I was spoiled during the Harris years, and last year. But there is something about this Team, season, and coaching staff this year that is really putting a damper on things for myself as well as every Falcon fan out there. IMO we just don't have it this year, lets hope that Omar puts up some decent stats and goes in the first round. see ya at the Doyt.
