I can't wait until the first Friday that I can sit by my computer and listen to a Falcon Hockey game on the station broadcasting the most games in college radion.
I'm also a loser, too.

The only down side i see to that is there are 4 CCHA teams before us. Don't get me wrong that's still awesome that we are up there, and this program is on the way up. I just didn't like seeing UM, MSU, FSU, and Miami all ahead of us.

True but, like I said, this is our third in a row. I believe that the only one ahead of us that can claim that is UM.bacn3 wrote:The only down side i see to that is there are 4 CCHA teams before us. When a team keeps getting top rated classes every year it's definately a sign that the program is moving in the right direction.
Miami has a definite facility advantage on us. A shiny new facility will do that.

Preseason rankings don't mean crap. All they do is look at the stats the kids had last year. To have the top incoming class means you have the most "talent" coming in. The stats don't tell the whole truth. It's all in how they adjust to the college game and schedule. Also, if the class doesn't mesh and gel well with each other or the rest of the team, all you have is a highly talented team that doesn't do a thing. It's all about the combination of talent and personalities.bacn3 wrote:The only down side i see to that is there are 4 CCHA teams before us. Phi or Die
I agree with that and the coaches do say that they look for that when recruiting players. (Case in point...Buddy's first recruiting class was the top rated class in the nation. They were great players but never really meshed as a team.) But, if you don't bring high level talent into the program it doesn't matter what you do...you're not going to win a lot of games. Part of coaching is making sure that the recruits you bring in to a program have talent AND a positive attitude towards TEAM play to keep alienation to a minimum. So far Paluch and company seem to be doing a good job in that category.pdt1081 wrote:Preseason rankings don't mean crap. All they do is look at the stats the kids had last year.
