You forgot about South Florida in 2002. That game was the second worst beating (Boise is 1st) that I've seen us taken since 2001.Flipper wrote:That's not a fair assessment. The passing game and overall offensive performance have improved under Brandon. The defense has gotten a bit worse, but we had problems stopping the run under Meyer (in 2002 Kent, NIU and UT all ran it down our throats) too.

Re: sick of GB bashing
Now if gspointer is indeed Mrs. Brandon , sorry for all this piling on. I got suckered into it myself after this last game. Its just getting real frustrating , hoping the guys will figure it out and only to see what we saw last Wed. Coach B has still has time to figure it out, but time is quickly running out.04forheisman wrote:Hey, Mrs. Brandon, ask your husband why the team has gotten worse in all phases of the game since your husband has taken over the program?? And I am also wondering what they do at halftime??gspointer wrote:![]()
At times this forum is ridiculous - all this preason talk of BCS busting and we have yet to recently win the conference. Now all this Brandon bashing after losing to 2 good teams. These things take time.
The good book says to withhold judgement unless you want to be judged by those same standards. Have you ever had a bad week at the office? You might finf yourself replaced- especially if you are wasting work time posting or should I say posing. Brandon is a good coach. Reserving judgement on the D cooridinator. We will be back. We all need to get real, supoport the team, and realize that we will only get better as a program.

You guys are funny. This bird dog has not been called a missy since I was 10 and I believe the offender ended up with a bloody nose. We made it to a Bowl and won last year. Not sure how that tranlates into getting worse. Meyer- not. He would be in the same boat. You are disappointed but you are getting ugly about it- that sucks. We need more talent on D and will get it. We lost to 2 good teams and frankly probably have not beaten teams of that caliber in years since Purdue. We are getting better and will continue but it is the attudtudes of some of you that make me ashamed to even read some of these posts. Falcon fans are better than that.

I don't think you'll find more die hard BG fans than the ones here....myself included. I've had season tickets since 1996 and have been going to games since the early 80's. Some here have been going to games since the, um...well a really long time.
I think we have every right to be upset by what happened Wed night. That was as poorly prepared a team as I've seen in some time...and I LIVE AND DIE WITH THIS FOOTBALL TEAM!! But sometimes ya gotta look at it from a different view.
I have always supported Coach Brandon and he has done a great job. But Wed night was inexcusable. I've come to EXPECT BG to win every game...even the ones we should not win. I support this program with my time, money and emotions. This team is my team...and everyone else's here. How many games have you attended recently? Just curious...
I see a team coming out the rest of the season looking for blood...I know we have a locker room full of guys that play with pride and want the MAC trophy....and we will still get it. Nuff said.
BTW, you aren't playing the game correctly with this thread.
GO FALCONS!!!
....and Gregg Brandon is a huge fan of Napoleon Dynamite....like me!

Are you threatening me Mrs. Brandon????? If your husband only had as much fire!!!!! I love the falcons as much as anybody, but as someone that knows alot about football, this team is heading in the wrong direction.gspointer wrote:You guys are funny. Just pitiful...
OK - I think we all need to take a moment and settle down.
I had the opportunity to talk to some parents of our players while in Boise. These parents are reading the boards. Many of them are disappointed at the attitudes of many that post on these boards.
The attacks on Timchenko were uncalled for - my thought and many parental thoughts.
Its been said on this board before and it is evident in the posts of many that a good number of people on this board have never had pads and a helmet on, yet they spout off like they're Falconboys' golden recruits 6-5/350 lbs. Amazing what people do hiding behind a keyboard.
Remember that these are young men (18-22 years old) that are out there representing our university. Many of them representing our university in a more positive manner than the coach and player bashing "fans" on this forum.
It's time to think BEFORE you post. Many bash the fans of OSU and other schools for their overzealous behaviors. Maybe it's time we looked in the mirror.
Welcome gspointer. You made good points.

So we're just supposed to let the team be as crappy as they want and never say anything? We've reached the point where this team is ready to reach the next plateau and needs pushed, because obviously the coach isn't. We showed no heart in Boise, and I'd venture to say you'd meet a few players who agreed.

You're right. Timchenko is doing a great job. Making 8 out of 11 XP should be acceptable for a fifth year senior. We were all spoiled by Suisham making an NCAA record number of XPs. Those are are lot harder than they look.transfer2BGSU wrote:The attacks on Timchenko were uncalled for - my thought and many parental thoughts.

There is a big, big difference between being constructive and being irrational. Most of the people posting in insulting threads like this have been posting very irrationally since Wednesday. It is not funny and, quite frankly, it reflects very, very poorly on these people not only as fans, but people in general.BGDrew wrote:So we're just supposed to let the team be as crappy as they want and never say anything? If there was a single person around here that did not for an instant entertain the thought of a 1-2 start to this season before it started, those people are either a.) idiots, or b.) liars and were simply not dealing with reality. This is the reason all of these "I told you so's" and "I have ESPN Gameplan so I know everything about football!" posts are so ridiculous.
There are many reasons to be critical of this team right now, but be critical constructively. This thread is not constructive - it shows a very poor sense of judgement.
