Omar has one bad game and suddenly he's not "wowing" everyone. What a golferian notion.

We better not water the field for the Rockettes too much, looks like Omar has lost the ability to walk on water.

If Knorr were still the Ohio coach they'd be 0-4 right now and I'd pick BG by 40+, but Solich has the Bobcats believing they can win. And while I know you all hate to hear it, Omar has not exactly been wowing everyone.

I think the Temple matchup will tell a lot. If BG wins 56-21 like they should then that will tell us all a lot about the kind of team the Falcons are this year.
I think this is going to be a way to close for comfort game for BG. I hope I am wrong and that BG just rolls past Ohio. But with the bye week giving Solich and his staff two full weeks to prepare for us (remember what Boise State did in less time), the new buzz around Athens about OU football with two wins already, and more importantly - a lot of confidence in the Bobcats mind (where I think the Falcons right now have a lot of doubt)....these are reasons why I am concerned. I only hope we come back this weekend and thrash Temple and then continue to roll by crushing Ohio. But I have a feeling we're going to have a real fight on our hands on October 8th.

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!

Let's not worry about the OU game - it's October 8. We still have to play Temple on October 1.

Yes, I agree we shouldn't be looking ahead, but that's kind of my point, Ohio isn't looking ahead because we are their next opponent and we have a non-conference game before we face them. It's what I stated in another post.....I usually take one game at a time no matter who we play. But after our start to this season, "I" am already looking ahead to Ohio because our key to having a great season lies in winning the MAC. If we lost to Temple it would be flat out embarrassing. But if we lost to Ohio, it could be crushing. Win or lose to Temple, we're still 1-0 in the MAC. Winning or losing to Ohio would be the difference of 2-0 or 1-1. I'm just ready for MAC play already and I hope we are too as soon as we beat (hopefully) Temple.

Ohio at BGSU Oct 8th

Post by oubobcatjohn »

At the beginning of the year when the schedules came out, I thought that Ohio has two game that they had zero chance of winning. Va Tech was one result 45-0 Tech. BGSU was the other. The past few years Ohio has been destroyed by BGSU. Then the MAC moved BGSU to the east(I was hoping for Ball State). This game will be a big test for Ohio and BGSU. 1. Can Ohio score more than 35 points? 2. Can BGSU stop a team that likes to run the ball a lot?

This isn't the same Ohio team that BGSU play midway through last year. Ohio is a lot healthier at this point and has a bye week.

BGSU has major problems on special teams. If Ohio's defense holds BGSU to fg attemps instead of touchdowns, this could be a competitive game.

Offense:advantage BGSU
Defense:advantage Ohio
Special Teams: Draw at kicker, draw at kick coverage, punter: Ohio

The game will come down to Jacobs vs Bynum. Bynum has three td's at CB 4 ints and a fumble recovery in four games. He leads the team in td's.

Basenez, Palko, Vick, and Machen are the QB's that have tested the Ohio secondary so far. 10 Bobcat picks so far.

In the preseason, I chalked this game up as an automatic win for BG. Now, with the new success Ohio has experienced in the first few weeks and the problems BG has faced early into this season, I am very concerned about this game. I still feel BG "should" win this game, but Miami should have beaten CMU at home too and didn't. I am hoping we get a lot of things ironed out againt Temple and get back to playing BG football in what should be a good game on October 8th.

The Ohio @ BG game could be the single worst display of kicking in the history of college football. We both have a horrendous kicking situation where one team (Ohio) can't make a FG to save our lives and the other (BG) can't make a FG or PAT.
