Hey, you never know. That's not my pick, but I hope Metz is right. They gotta play the games.

That's about as good of a prediction as the people who do preseason hoopla, but in the end, my prediction will be closer.
Metz, you're on campus. Have you seen the new guys play? How are they looking? (I'm marooned Akron working 70 hour weeks.)

I've seen them play while taking photos of them...they are all on my site if anyone hasn't looked. I will say this about the team. They are the best group of shooters I've seen here as a whole. So we don't have the same leadership or size, but we have people who can shoot.

Besides, leadership doesn't really come about until the season starts. Sure the upper classmen can talk to the kids and tell them how school and college bball go, but until they get into the situation of playing an actual game, they won't understand. Even then, some of the freshmen could step up as leaders. A leader doesn't have to be older, just someone who takes on the situation face-to-face knowing they aren't going to back down.

Again, 20 wins.

I'm going to restrain from giving my title/tourney predictions...everyone will laugh.

True, but I am the recognized jackass around here, so I'll do it for you.

20 wins and an appearance in the title game. 8)

11 wins and next to last in the east with 5 more wins possible if we hadn't been out coached. Talent means nothing in terms of championships if you cannot get it to come together and play as a team. When the men's team and staff learn that lesson and look at what the office upstairs if doing success will come again.

20 Wins??

Post by Falconboy »

Uh.....I don't think so. This young team has got a brutal schedule against some very athletice teams in Va Tech and some other really good teams early.

I would just like to point out that many of the aforementioned sentiments sound exactly like OU fans before the beginning of last season. Metz is just trying to be positve, which is nice for a change on this site. As we saw last year, talented-youth (Ohio) can win in this league. Why not us?

If there is one thing I will not bet against Metz on, its basketball, he follows it WAY more than most students, and was pretty close on his predicitions last year.

Dakich isn't a bad coach, just seems to have problems recruiting tough kids.

And I will respect your opinion. I however, trust him about as much as I trust our new Defensive Coordinator.

Because you, sir, are completely unwilling to let the fact that he left BG for two weeks go and can't respect his capacity to admit that he was wrong and that he was in a good situation at BGSU.

Our new defensive coordinator is a different issue.
