Online video feed for homegames?

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I know that Miami is doing this for the first time this year, and I recall last year hearing that we were broadcasting video of our homegames starting last year as an added benefit of having the video board. Is this true and is it still true, or am I just being wistfully delusional as usual? If it is true, where can I find the link?

I just realized that unless the OU game gets picked up by Gameplan next week I may not be able to see the Doyt in action until the Toledo game! :(

This from Temple's game release, emphasis (and link) mine ...
The game will be televised live on CN8 with Brian Webber calling the action, Bill Osborne providing the commentary and Gregg Murphy on the sidelines. The contest is the third of four Temple games to be televised live on the network this season and one of eight to be televised overall. CN8’s telecasts are streamed live over the internet at www.cn8.tv via the "Watch CN8 Live!" link. Due to a scheduling conflict, the radio broadcast of the game will air on WNPT 990 AM.

SWEET! What player will I need to watch it? How do I access the video feed (I looked briefly but only saw the schedule)? Do I need to pay for it?

Sorry to be Mr. Inquisitive, but I want to figure this out this week so that there are not any snags on Saturday!

YOU ROCK '87!!!!

:D

BO:

I'm not entirely sure. My guess is that the feed is embedded in the page so you shouldn't need a special plug in.

BO,

I saw this on Temple's website yesterday and tried it out myself. I have yet to get it to work and it may have something to do with being out of the Philly area, but it's still worth a try. All that you are supposed to need is Windows Media Player. Just go directly to this webpage to start the link: http://www.cn8.tv/channel/article.asp?l ... ad=cn8live

The Owls also have Yahoo Radio and Gamecast setup just in case you need it.

The school broadcasts the games on closed circuit throughout campus. There's no reason they wouldn't be able to do a webcast barring cost and inspiration.

I'm really curious to see if the gameday experience has improved from last year. Most notably....

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Are you saying the BGSU broadcasts the games on closed circuit or is this a reference to the Temple stuff mentioned earlier in this thread?

1987, you are a STAR! Do you know the last time I got to see a BG football game? Decades ago. This is awesome. The site run's fine on this side of the Atlantic. I'm going to buy a crate of beer, and pop a lid for every point we score. Awesome. If I see an AZZ flag in the stands I'll raise a beer to the lot of you! What a star you are!

I did a test run last night to check the reception and picture quality, and it was pretty good albeit it was a newscast not a football game. Better than no video. Go Falcons.
