Interesting what they don't say. They don't say how many seats are left, and they don't raise the possibility of a sell out .

Sounds like the crowd will still be pretty good though.

Just a thought ... can they really raise the spectre of a sellout given that they're never really sure how many students are going to show up? Plus, raising that possibility might cause some folks to stay home ("We won't get good seats" ... "Who wants to fight a big crowd" ... "That traffic will be a hassle"). It's fine line, I suppose, between creating urgency without scaring people off.

Expect a HUGE student body showing up tomorrow.

Yes, there is a joke there. But seriously, the campus is pumped for this game. Hell, professors are pumped for this game.

Students will be there

I agree with ya BGDrew, I feel a buzz about this game around BG. The campus is still in love with Omar Jacobs and are ready to see him action. I was worried students wouldn't be pumped for this game but I think they are. With all the pre-game stuff goin on, fireworks, good weather, homecoming.....I think alot of students will show up. Students, alumni, parents, falcon fanatics, let's all rock the Doyt & rattle the Owls!!!

While I was picking up my tickets there was an older foreign (sorry..International exchange) student asking about tickets.
This is going to be his first football game and he wanted to know how long it would be, if his wife could get in off of his student pass etc...

I felt so American when I told him the game would be like 3-3.5 hours....

Actually, they can and they have.

The 2003 Toledo and Northern Illinois were both declared sellouts before game day -- and they were raising the spectre earlier in the week.

Basically, BGSU sets aside a certain amount of seating for students -- around 8,000, I think.

Once all the tickets are sold to the point where those 8,000 seats are left, they stop selling and declare a sell out.

The campus side is sold already -- but that includes a lot of empty seats that are first come, first serve for students.
Plus, raising that possibility might cause some folks to stay home ("We won't get good seats" ... "Who wants to fight a big crowd" ... "That traffic will be a hassle"). It's fine line, I suppose, between creating urgency without scaring people off.
I think they walked that line pretty well.

It cracks me up just a little to imagine people thinking game day traffic is bad. It is for the Toledo game when traffic backs up on exit 181. But the locals know the back ways.

(Hint: Get off the first exit on I-475 and take the Dixie Highway down from Perrysburg. *Much* easier).

It must be $3. I bought tickets yesterday and the guy told me the price. Then he saw I was writing a heck and the price was reduced by $3 . So I am guessing there is a $3 charge if you use a credit card.

A more local minded person will tell you to stay on I75 south and Exit at the 582 Luckey / Haskins exit, head west and catch 25/Dixie Highway there

Yep...then you head south on 25 until you reach the traffic light at the Burger King on the North end of town. You make a left at that light, go past the mall and hang a right at the first street past the RR tracks.
Then you go left on Poe and right on Mercer and you are at the Doyt's doorstep.

If you're not into tailgating and want to park for free, park at the Field house and walk in from there.
