Tailgate Crowd!!!!!

Post by BourbonFalcon »

Was it just me or did the atmosphere around the Doyt exceed anything that BG has been able to put forth in recent history? I know that I've never seen anything like that at a BG game the 5 years I've been here, including the NIU game. There were tons of people tailgaiting and tents gallore! I'd like to give crecidt to everyone involved for making it seem like the big time (as it should) here in BG today!! Hopefully it is like that for next weeks game!
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!

LOTS of students were tailgating and the cops were just letting them be...how it should be.

The student section(s), yes sections, were awesome. There were three sections completely full with students. That was just an awesome atmosphere!

Great tailgate crowd!

It kinda sucked because people were pulling right up and parking right where we were trying to tailgate, but still great to see such a crowd. Next time may have to just park out in the grass, if they're going to let us get away with that this year.

If we're going to get tailgate crowds like that the university really needs to get more portalets and some trash cans out there. Most of the day was urinating in an old jug for us...I'm sure it would still be a mess out there, but they should really at least put some trash bins out there. I know most won't take the time to use them, but many of us would.

Still great to see a huge crowd out there. Wish all of 'em could've went in for the game, but it was a great tailgate crowd.

Being in one of the student sections I had a great time. I could feel the energy from everybody and I saw up on the screen four times. I felt that this student section from this year's game beat out last year's student section. Watching Brandon raising his arms to fire up the students gave me a big chill. I loved it!

There's no way that was only 19,000 people....

Regarding the bathroom situation in the lot, hats off tho the young lady (pants off?) who just took off her pants and relieved herself between two parked cars right there in the middle of the lot. I'm sure somebody got a shot or two of that on a camera phone. Internet fame as "The peeing girl" is surely a part of her future.

Great atmosphjere though...Gregg Brandon was STOKED in his post game comments. Let's keep it rolling next week against the Bobkitties.

Anyone know where I can find some chocolate covered ants?

That was just freaking AWESOME! Thanks to everyone who was giving me food and what not. Felt like snakeman for a bit  My friend and I got there and planned on going up to get in line to the stadium and ran into a million of you guys and other fans. Made my first tailgating experience a blast! Definitely don't miss band after today :D

You guys are right on the money, the tailgate crowd was flat out nasty. When i walked to the stadium i was like what in the world, is this the bg game? it really did have the atmosphere of a bigger school like sec/big ten, it was great. I hope that we can have those types of crowds again because it was a heck of an environment and it was great to see the falcons dominate like they should.

I actually think the crowd wasn't extremely loud. Don't get me wrong, it was an improvement over last year. But frequently on Temple 3rd downs you could hear a pin drop.

I think OU's student attendance will show what kind of support this team has from the campus.

With that said, God damn that was fun.
