I don't think it's realistic to expect anyone to have a running tally of direct quotes. But I can give you one small example that illustrates the way Trev talked about the MAC.kdog27 wrote:I'm with him.Schadenfreude wrote:Anyone want to refresh my memory. What is the grievance with Trev Alberts?
Direct quotes would be appreciated.
In a recap of the Miami-Ohio State game, one clip was shown of Betts throwing a quick out that was intercepted. Alberts offered this keen insight: "You can throw that 5-yard out against a MAC team, but not against the Big Ten."
Interestingly enough, I had been to the Giants-Browns preseason game a week or so prior. During that game, I noticed that Crennel had all three QBs throw that exact same pass. In fact, my brother and I spent a few minutes discussing it.
If he had said you can't throw that against Ohio State, it wouldn't have caused me to bat an eye. The Buckeyes have one of the best defenses in the country, one that no MAC team can measure up to. But, no, he made a blanket statement that inferred that the MAC played a brand of football that just doesn't belong on the same field as the Big Tenleven.
Is that comment a scatching indictment of the MAC by Alberts? No. Does it warrant the venom that has been spewed his way? No. However, it is only one, small example of the type of attitude he consistently went out of his way to display.
He deserves the barrage of disdain that is being heaped upon him.
