I don't understand the need to compare, really.

Sounds like it was a great atmosphere and an awesome turnout. Does it really matter if it was anything like Ohio State's? Next time BG plays and OSU does not, invite the OSU fan to come with you. Let him see for himself.

My friend got a ticket for an open container right next to the Shoe during a UM tailgate.

Saturday, there was a row of kegs and beer pong.

Sorry, I stopped drinking the red Ghetto Juice a long time ago.
since you asked. hey tailgate at:

alumni center parking lots, woody hayes athletic center parking lots, open grass field to the right of the woody hayes athletic center. Schottenstein parking lots, the whole parking lot next to the baseball stadium AND across the street from the baseball stadium. along the olentangy right behind the alumni center, WOSU parking lots, Hiney gate, Blitz Bash, WNCI has one in that same row. there is a new Alumni restaraunt in champions lane with outdoor bar..buckeye hall of fame cafe, and thats just the ones that I have been to on the north and west side of the stadium...there is also lots of tailgating right along the east side of the stadium..there used to be a lot more on the north side of old st johns arena which is right beside the SHoe but they took it away when they rebuilt the bridge..i imagine they will oepn those back up next year.

just an example incase you havent seen this parking lot but the one in big letters above is double the size of the complete lot 6 tailgating area at BGSU. just a little FYI since you had to ask like a smart a_ _ fill in the blanks

I have seen OSU and I have been part of it, but I had a much better time at BG. If you like being cramped up like a bunch of sardines, then OSU it is. If you like a fun, friendly, family atmosphere...BG wins hands down. The tailgating this past weekend was something very special. While at Wisky tailgating, I remember telling folks that the BG tailgating was better because you had alot of room to spread out and enjoy your own area, without others breathing down your neck.

All I want to know is why you must go out of your way to denegrate your University for the benefit of one you never have and never will attend. Now, I know, I know, you say you're just being realistic, but what is wrong with letting people enjoy what is happening at BGSU without having to defend Ohio A&M like it was your puppy and someone just kicked it?

They don't need your defense. We all know they are the greatest and that we will never be able to aspire to their level of class and greatness.

also, you dont know me or how i have always been. ohio state football was always my passion. i came to BG with no intent on attending footbll games. they went 2-9 my freshman year but i went to the home opener. Kurt gerling was the man so i came back. hell i even went to a road game to watch us get killed. i became a fan but it's not going to become something more of a passion and i dont give up a passion just because my degree ,which stands for education not athleitic fanaticism, says BGSU on it. you know i care about this football team, you even said so after the Boise game when 95% of the dufuses on here (who try to bash me) wanted to forget about the season when you and I were the only ones telling them how the season is just beginning.

i defend my passion just like everyone else would defend theirs.

This thread is just mindless bashing.

Saturday was the best tailgate atmosphere we've ever had at BG. I wish someone would get a picture just so those that have never seen it like that could see it.

It still pales in comparison to a tailgate at OSU.

Unlike what others said I thought we had less room saturday than where I usually tailgate at OSU. Once all the cars packed in on the grassy field it was very tight there. Not complaining, just commenting.

We are BG, no clue why we have to prop ourselves up against OSU, it just brings about mindless arguments between those that are fans and those that are not.

I actually like the atmosphere in Ann Arbor. You can spread out nicely over on the golf course lot and the RV's usually park at the High school so you don't have to fight your way around a rolling house.

Saturday was another one of those "my how far we've come" days. I think we had more people tailgating on Satruday than we drew for the average home game in 2000. It's events like this that stick in people's heads and later influence them to come back for more.

When I graduated in 1985 we were in the midst of a pretty good run so far as football goes. That made me a fan for life. Think about all the people coming through the University now and all the people that have come through and left since 2001.

How many life long fans are we brewing up right now?

That and we didn't have to walk a mile to the stadium at BG from the tailgate.

I've got a picture of the lot taken during the game from the top of the east stands (although I was more focusing on our tailgate area, so I don't know if it got the massive amounts of cars toward the golf course), but I'll see how it turned out tonight and share if I feel like it

Teke, I'm not trying to bash you. I know you care about BGSU football - you've been great around here the past couple of weeks especially. All I'm trying to say is that you should just let people enjoy what is happening here without reminding everyone how much superior OSU is to BG. We get it. It is said over and over again all over the internet and throughout the Ohio sports media. We certainly don't need one of our own doing it whenever that school down south is mentioned.

Again, if OSU football is your passion, that is fine. Just respect the fact that people are equally passionate about BGSU football and most of them don't care how we stack up to OSU because, to us, it does not matter. If you see a comment that offends your "passion," just let it go with the understanding that this is one place where people can go to feel like we are part of the "big time." It is inevitable that OSU will come up in discussions, but let people have their fun. OSU will be no worse for the wear.
