The weirdest thing about it however was the location...a West Side men's room!
Now what are the rules for motivating these recruits to attend games? who is allowed to do it, because this guy didn't obviously wasn't a member of the coaching staff.
It could have been an older brother or something.
I saw someone who appeared to be a recruit (and his father) from Elyria High School at the game.
I don't see people reporting anyone from Elyria on our radar screen right now -- but obviously our program does a lot of recruiting that doesn't get reported.

JS,
As far as I know, any member of the Falcon Club is considered a booster and therefore cannot talk with potential recruits. Class of 61 and I were talking about this the other day. FC members get a brochure about all this stuff. If you are gonna be at the OU game, I'll try to remember to bring it along.
Someone else with much better info could give you the precise stuff.

FALCON FOOTBALL ROCKS!
In 2004, Tongo 60 solo tackles, 4 caused fumbles and 2 sacks. Osahon is known as one of the most devastating hitters in the state of Illinois. Talk to an opposing coach of Tongo’s and the first thing you’ll hear is “He Brings It!”.
look at his solid offers:
My favorites are Northwestern, Stanford, Miami, Illinois, Texas, Wisconsin, Purdue, Louisville and Nebraska. Northwestern would probably be my leader because they have offered me a scholarship.”
Coaches Comments - "Osahon is the real deal. He was 6-1, 195 at the start of his junior season but he hit a growth spurt. Tongo loves to bring it if you know what I mean. When he hits the ball carrier you can see their head fly back, that's what type of player he is. He's going to be a 230-pound linebacker in college. Probably a sam linebacker."
go falcons !!!!!!!!!!
Holy crap! Did we get a commit from Tongo? BG isn't on the list of schools of interest on rivals, but a hell of a lot of BCS schools are. If we did, boy...
I extremely doubt this kid is even really considering BG let alone come here. Boy would I love it though, but with all the BCS schools after him , what does he have to lure him here , unless he somehow falls in love with DC Lovetty for some reason. I'd be ultra shocked if we landed this guy, but I'd love it if we did.

Uh.......this kid is 195lbs. Saftey yeah, DE yeah right. He's about 40lbs away from being able to be a legit DE, unless this kid runs a 4.4 which he doesn't. This kid looks like he would make a kick butt smash hitting strong or free saftey for us.

I put on 40 lbs (mostly muscle) in about 2 1/2 - 3 years after graduating high school. And, I didn't have the benefit of strength and conditioning coaches and nutritionists.

Relax. He was making a point. Basically, think of how much muscle this kid could put on, with the benefit of trainers, nutritionists, etc.

G-fitch: He was merely making a point that the kid could easily "grow" into a DE. Remember, these are kids and some kids have more room to grow on their frames than others.

That seems a little surprising to me but congrats to you. Not saying its impossible for this kid to get up to 240 or so but it would take quite along while possibly into his senior year before he could gain that much muscle if he is indeed only 195lbs now. Thats why I'm thinking saftey or outside linebacker for this kid starting from the size he is now. Especially considering the effect our trainers have had lately on having our guys gaining weight ala Nick Davis & Brandon Curtis our soph DT's. So I'm just saying gaining 40lbs in one year is not likely. Maybe in 2 years of steady weight training and diet.
Does anyone know if Osahon Tango plays an offensive position? I betting on we're going to put him at tight end, since that has worked out so well for us. There's no chance a good athlete will play defense in this "system."

Yeah, that wasn't a "look at what I did" post. Others noted the point. One might be surprised how much healthy weight a young athlete can pack on in a short amount of time. Oftentimes during the recruiting process coaches will tell kids that they plan to put 25 or more pounds on them, and quickly. I have heard it said and seen it done. I imagine that I'm not the only one on the board who has heard/seen such things.
