You can't possibly be serious after watching all of the mid-game adjustments we've made this year, not to mention Brandon proclaiming on the radio on Monday that our defense had made "significant strides" against Temple after giving up many 3rd and mid-range running plays and getting absolutely no penetration.
Ehh...methinks he was talking about Solich...

And anyhow, I'm not sure which game you were watching on Saturday, but in the game I watched the sky was most certainly not falling...

But it didn't give me a lot of confidence either. We should roll it up on Temple. However, I didn't see the major strides in our defense.

Sorry.. I feel like I've disappeared from this board. It's been a busy fall quarter down at OU.

Anyways, for my input on the game this weekend, I also think it will be a close drive. The Bobcats do thrive on running the ball, and have a pretty solid set of RB's. The defense is also much improved. Dion Byrum (whom Omar torched early and often to Sanders last year) seems like he's possessed out on the field. He's making great breaks on the ball and always seems to be there.

OU's special teams are about as bad as ours are. I'm thinking BG will win, but it will be a close one. Omar can't score when he's on the field. Our D needs to make stands and/or create turnovers.

P.S...... I WILL be in town for the game.

Alright, has anyone ever seen the kid Ohio calls their quarterback? I'm sure he is a great kid, but he may be one of the worst QB's I've ever seen. If OU were a dual threat team I'd be very concerned, but they're not. Defending the run becomes a lot easier when you have the ability to stack seven or eight in the box and crash your DB's every now and then - no matter how incompetant people feel our defenders are.

Couple that with the fact that we did indeed make some significant strides on Defense in the Temple game, and I am only mildly concerned about this game (I'm concerned about all of them). A couple of you are looking at the fact that we gave up 140 yds. rushing against Temple and saying that our D still sucks. Fact of the matter is, though, that when all a team can do is run (and basically run nowhere), their rushing numbers are going to be inflated. That is just the way it goes.

Say whatever you want to, but the defense I saw playing last Saturday was a team that had a fire lit under their ass and was swarming to the ball. They definately weren't doing that in the first few games, and to me that is an obvious improvement. To say that you didn't see any significant improvement in our D against Temple is, in the words of Jacko, "ignorant" and seemingly an attempt to find something to be negative about as has become the theme around here lately.

Everson is not a bad QB... but his wide receivers are just awful. They can't catch anything... However OU is still a running team... but that is BG's weakness...

One of the things that concerns me most about this game is that it is our biggest game of the year – so far. We’ve played three non-conference games already and another game against probably the worst team in the MAC in Ball State and that game with the Cardinals wasn’t a MAC East head-to-head match-up like this one is. With that being said, what concerns me is we couldn’t put Ball State away and actually trailed in the fourth quarter to them before pulling out a couple big plays and we gave up 31 points. Our other win was against a very bad Temple team, and frankly, though we dominated like we should have, it doesn’t have anything to do with Ohio. Ohio has had two weeks to prepare for us, and more concerning to me is that as big of a game as it is for us, it is for them too. They are playing hard and most importantly, they are playing with a lot of confidence and have had two weeks to sit on a MAC victory. I’ll say this much, we had better bring our A-game and jump on them early and often because if we leave them hang around, we could be in for a real (and unpleasant) surprise.

We've turned the corner as a team. I say we beat Ohio and it ain't close.
