Any students sticking around this weekend for the game?
For those students who post on here, any idea if there will be some students that stick around for this game or will be coming back this weekend for the game? Man I wish Fall Break was next week, it would have worked out a lot better (football-wise) to have it next week. The student section was great for the Temple game, but we’re going to need that kind of atmosphere much more this week than we did last. For those of you staying, round up as many friends as you can to stay an go….we need you!!!
GO BG!!!

There will be plenty of students still aound town this weekend as there are every weekend.
Paul Krebs has stated his displeasure to the commissioner that he was extremely disappointed that we had a home game during fall break.

True, but how many will be coming to the game is the question. What time does Ohio State play this weekend. That will have some effect on the game day attendance by the students like it always does. Regardless I will be there along with all of my friends.transfer2BGSU wrote:There will be plenty of students still aound town this weekend as there are every weekend.

That's great if there will be some students around. But why is Krebs upset at the MAC? The MAC didn't schedule our Fall Break? I wonder why BG scheduled it to fall on a football weekend. I don't know, we didn't have them when I was in school, but this issue seems like a BG thing, not a MAC thing.
GO BG!!!
As I posted in another thread, Ohio may well be bringing a decent amount of fans. And the timing of the Ohio State game may - may - have an impact.
I'm guardedly optimistic that we'll have a good crowd. But as Freak has said before, we can only worry about us being there. And as I said in this thread, the challenge for those near BG and planning on going to the game is to bring one more person than you would usually bring to the game with you this weekend.

Fall Breaks are planned as part of the academic calendar, and as such, are established several years in advance. The MAC offices know when all of the breaks are for all conference schools before they sit down to make schedules.BGSU33 wrote:transfer2BGSU wrote:There will be plenty of students still aound town this weekend as there are every weekend.

i work sat like 9-4 at skyline chili, but after that i'll be tailgating and going to watch us destroy the bobkitties.. it always makes for a few interesting phone calls to all my highschool friends who went to ou.
i think a good amount of people are going home, but i was suprised to hear a few people i wouldn't expect to stay say that they were staying for the game.

We've got academic calendars scheduled for the next seven years. The MAC can't tell us when our first home game of the 2006 campaign is at this time.BGSU33 wrote:But why is Krebs upset at the MAC? The MAC didn't schedule our Fall Break? I wonder why BG scheduled it to fall on a football weekend.

You also have to remember that we are not the only team in the MAC. As someone who has tried to schedule games for a basketball league, it is next to impossible to have everything work out ideally. If something was done to accommodate us, it may have screwed someone else.Bleeding Orange wrote:Fall Breaks are planned as part of the academic calendar, and as such, are established several years in advance. But let's worry about things we can control. Bring a friend to the game, and bring your kids...they get in free for this!

I''ll Be there!
As soon as the schedule came out I knew having a game over fall break would suck and there would not be alot of students there but I also knew right away that I was staying up for the game. How could I miss Omar and the Falcons play at the Doyt?! Most of my friends are goin home friday so I dunno how the studnet turnout will be. I'm sure there will be students there, hopefully at least 1,000 or so. I knew we would struggle with attendence this game so I got my parents to come up for the game. My dad is an OU alum but he'll be rooting for BG and he loves Omar. I plan on bringing them over to the AZZ tent for some tailgating. I'm pumped for this game and if any students are real Falcon fans they should stay for the game. I'm still goin home but not until late saturday night after the game is over. I would think that's what alot of students should do.

I've been trying to get as many of my friends to come to the game and tailgate, not only for the game but for my birthday as well. So far I'm probably close to 15, but a LOT of students aren't going to be here. I also had to bribe one of my friends to come tailgate and go to the game, by telling him if it was a blowout we could leave at the half in order to watch Penn State! It hurt my pride to agree, but I figure everyone tells a white lie every once in awhile! I've also started inviting people that don't go here to come to the game, which is working out pretty well. So far I've got at least 3 from my hometown, and 3 or 4 friends that used to go here that now live around Ohio. Hopefully there will be a few warm bodies here for my birthday and the game! If anyone else knows any other methods that work let me know!
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!
