NIU has a very good offense, but they couldn't stop Klinger in a dress. 8)
NIU is lucky that Miami didn't bench Betts for Klinger.

Seriously, Betts isn't right.....something is wrong. He didn't plant his feet at all last night and because of that he didn't throw one single tight spiral. He missed open receivers and didn't even see others that were wide open and either dumped it off into the flat or ran with the ball instead of throwing to the wide open defender. Betts made NIU's defense look better than they are, and Miami still scored 27 points in the game.

If BG gets by Ohio this weekend as I expect, the race in the East will be all but over.
You're right rf....Betts was throwing off his back foot and off balance all night. This was a game Miami could have won and I am very impressed with their rb, is it Murphy? That kid can cut and run extremely well.

If BG can get the victory this weekend, we'll be in great shape at this point.
Still a good game to watch last night. NIU is tough as nails in that stadium.

GO FALCONS!!

Why do you care so much? We are in different divisions. Oh, you must be afraid to face him in the MACC game.

Well, there's the little issue of the season finale, too.

And, FWIW, I'd want Bruce Almighty at full strength either way.

The running back for Miami is Brandon Murphy. I went to high school with him in Strongsville and he is very talented with speed but lacks size.

Agree totally. But...

Excuse me? If Miami beats BG (at home, mind you) and BG loses to Toledo, then what do we have? Miami has no losses in the East. With a win over BG, Miami controls their own destiny (even without a BG loss to Toledo). I don't write off anybody with so many big games yet to play. Good thing the teams don't think like you do, we could just all pack up and go home and wait for basketball.

The fact that Miami has no losses in the East is irrelevent. All conference games count the same in the standings, and your 0-2 visit to the West Division counts.

But it would seem he's saying, if BG were to lose to Miami and Toledo, and Miami were to win out, both teams would have two conference losses... but Miami would have beaten us, so they'd win the East.

The fact that Miami has no losses in the East means nothing right now, but if they keep it up, then it means they'd come out on top in any tiebreaker.

Same goes for us, obviously.

Precisely.
BTW, does the band do a 'show' prior to the game? I came up for the WMU game last year (try to get to at least one every year) and the band did a 'show' about an hour before the game. I really enjoyed that. I'm coming up for the Akron game this year. Any chance they're doing that again?

the band does a "show" in the fieldhouse 2 hours prior to "kickoff."

My two cents......:
Miami @ EMU - not a given
Miami @ OU - definitely not a given.

Why do you have to put everything in "quotes?" Is it because I "scare children," or because I'm generally not considered to be "clean" by most people?

Miami has two losses already. BG has no losses. Compare the schedules. All our 'tough' are at the Doyt. Coventional wisdom says Miami is a longshot at best to win the. They cannot lose another game, and that is not a given. Akron at Miami next week I beleive? As it stands now, I give us about 92 chance out of 100 of winning the East. Akron gets about 5 chances, Ohio 2, and Miami 1.

Yeah, I've kept my mouth shut about this, especially at MHT.com, but the fact of the matter is that there has to be a perfect storm in the MAC for Miami to make it to the MACC game. I feel bad for Miami fans because if I were in the position they were in I would be devastated and looking for all of the possibilities, but this kind of talk is more wishful thinking than anything.

The enticing part for Miami though is that they control at least part of their own destiny...

Devastated is what New Orleans is. Disappointed, maybe. Speaking for myself I am hoping, as a possibility, our injured players get back in the game and we do much better. Wishful thinking? Perhaps, but nonetheless will follow my RedHawks win or lose.

Like I was saying, I don't blame you at all - I'd be doing the same thing. And you're right, "devastated" was a poor choice of words.

I'm still pulling for Terna to get back as soon as possible. I don't care if he rips BG apart, his injury sucks and I really feel for him.
