That loss won't really hurt them unless they end up in a tie at the end of the year. I don't think the rest of the season will be that difficult. As much as I hate Toledo, and hate lossing to them even more, the "big" game remaining for us to play is Miami. I have a feeling that the winner of that game wins the division, and plays in Detroit end of Nov.
All MAC games count towards your MAC record -- so we are 2 up on Miami.

I know that, but doesn't a loss to a team in the other division hurt less than a loss to a team in ones own division? Or is it that I am just saddly confussed and mistaken?

If there are no ties, all MAC losses count the same.

Ok...Follow me on this because I want to make sure I totally understand how things work.

Lets say that Miami wins out in MAC East play. Our only MAC lost is Miami. Miami would play in the MACC game, correct? They would not have lost to any East Division team.

*Note, strictly a "What if" situation. I honestly don't see this happening, but I want to make sure I understand how things work.

Try to forget about the east and west for a second. The first comparison is the overall MAC record. If our only loss is to MU, as in the above scenario, we would go to the MACC because Miami already has 2 conference losses. The East/West thing is only a tiebreaker.

no prob -- always happy to help.

I think I would give us about a 90% chance to win the East and go to a bowl right now. Of course a lot can change between now and then, and a lot depends on PJ's status the rest of the season. I better not see him on the field against Buffalo.

Yea i feel badly for PJ right now, I hope he gets to rest for two solid weeks maybe all three, esp as far as any pro shot goes his durability is realy in question right now, but from a MAC thing we will need him 110% when we play Miami and Toledo,
I am most worried about Toledo esp if Brad is out of the Bat Cave (ie: concussion Land...hurt hand etc..) Toledo is realy a different team when he plays or does not, and well after last years FUBAR second half, we will have to play our best game of the year....
Then we may have to play it again against Toledo a week later at Ford Field....
Speaking of Which...i woul;d hope...realy realy hope the UNIV would provide FREE transportation via BUs for any student wishing to attend the Championship Game, assuming we are playing for it....
Its been 12 years since we won, and it would make sense to get as many of our students up ther to fill that place up...i hope the UnIv considers it,a nd the pay off of doing it.

Also anyone eles hear that the GMAC bowl was to be played at Ford field this year as well with NO being well not so good to say the least/

GMAC Bowl

Post by doughash »

Not sure where your getting this misinformation regarding the GMAC Bowl but it will be played in Mobile as usual. They've recovered fairly well from the hurricane.
