Cat Fan
The reason that the fans make such a difference in a game is because emotion and momentum are so important in college ball. The visiting team must always be self-motivating while the home team can feed of the emotion of the crowd. That being said - I think that if OU can come out strong and build some self-confidence and momentum, they could beat BG. As exhibit A, I submit the play of Ball State. BG started slow, BSU had some early success, and the crowd and their team really got some mojo going. They really looked like a good team that day in spite of all the suspended players and were truly disappointed win they did not win. I think that a huge part of BG's success in recent years has been that they score on the opening drive of most every game. That's a huge advantage.

Very cool that you will be making the trip! I've been down to Peden Stadium 4 times for the last 4 BG/OU games there...always a beautiful drive and a really nice stadium...I mean very nice.OUAttackCat wrote:No matter what the experts predict, I believe this will be a good all around game. From what I gather, BG has a subpar defense and a great offense. Inverse that and you get Ohio. If Jacobs has an average day on the field, I think we can make the game close and maybe pull the upset. But if he's right on top of his game? Well, lights out. We'll need to put some heavy pressure on him to throw him off, but he's a pretty poised kind of guy.
I plan to make my first trip into your stadium this weekend, any tips of where to park/tailgate/etc?
The nice thing about the Doyt being out in the middle of nowhere is there is plenty of parking around it. We usually try to grab space over by I 75 but our group will have a tent this weekend. Tent city leads to the stadium. Stop by if ya get a chance. Hopefully, you get treated well.
Have a safe trip.

BG is last in the nation in rush defense. I agree that's below expectations, but I would dare say it is also subpar.
For now.
I think Saturday's game will tell the tale on BG's defense for the rest of the year. A good performance and we can chalk things up to a slow start. If they struggle again, we'll all have to strap in for a long, bumpy ride.

Good game y'all. I have to tip my hat to BG. You guys made improvements in your game...and we didn't. I'm impressed with your D, and terribly dissapointed with us. I really expected a better game plan with two weeks to prepare from our new staff. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season, you deserved the win yesterday and I hope you take the East and the MACC.

Hey, the Bobcats never stopped fighting. The end of the first half was really amazing, between the blocked punt and -- I don't even know what you call that kickoff, was it designed for our players to run away from the ball like that?bobcatgrad wrote:Good game y'all. Them Bobcats are fighters. If Solich can recruit, that is going to be a program to deal with very soon.
I'd say I hope it wasn't too long a bus ride home -- but, of course, it was. I passed the Bobcat buses south of Marion, and I already thought it was a long drive. And I was only going to Columbus.
