Student attendance is fine. We get about 8,000 a game which is ideal. We need to find a way to get those 15,000-16,000 community members out to the games.

I think we'll be ok -- the marketing dept has made strides and we are beginning to get that winning culture. If we continue winning 8-9 games a year with the occasional special season and 6-6 season sprinkled in, the fans will be there.

I thought the turnout was strong, especially given Fall Break. Schade is right - if you want to be mad, be mad at the MAC office; Krebs certainly made it clear he wasn't happy with them.

As for the OSU fans ... when Noah & I went to Meier's for tailgating stuff, we saw a lot, I mean a lot, of folks in Ohio State gear. This perplexed Noah, who asked "what are all the Ohio State fans doing here? This is Bowling Green."

As for noise. I made a mental note to myself. The cowbell idea is on for next year. Period. Heck, I might bring a few cases of the things and hand 'em out.

cowbells work great, so do those plastic clapper things, i'm sure thepeople around me enjoy them!!!! if 5,000 people would ring cowbells that would be pretty distracting for opponenets.

noah might just be the brightest elementary school student that i've never met. what a great question. i often wondered that walking around campus observing other students, and even fans at the doyt from time to time.. it's too bad that grown ups can't make as much sense as the youth.

I am dead serious on this one. I'm scheming to come up with the extra cash to get a bunch, "customize" them and get them to BG for next year's road trip.

I heard from one of the kids that SBX has BGSU cowbells. Didn't get time to check it on Saturday... Maybe we should write to the BG News and urge students to go get them. Providing, of course, that they truly ARE there!

Always - I went to SBX and found them. Very expensive; I think it was something like $15. Otherwise, I would've gotten one. I can find them cheaper (a bit smaller, of course, but plenty loud), probably less than $4 a piece.

Not soon enough...WE NEED THESE FOR UT. Even if they can't be customized, can students put together a flyer and pass it out to spread the word to bring them? Did anyone find out if it would violate any NCAA rules? Folks could spread the word at the game prior to UT.
