And let's keep it that way. I like being old school and having a grass field. Not to mention that the field looked outstanding last week after the game. It held up very well.Falconfreak90 wrote: BGSU will have the only grass field in the MAC next year. Interesting.

Isn't it about time you guys enter the 21st century? The only MAC school left with grass. Look across the country, everyone is going to Field Turf or something like it. And the coolest thing is that it costs less in the long run because there is much less maintenance and no watering needed.Falconfreak90 wrote:BGSU will have the only grass field in the MAC next year. At any rate, this is the last year Toledo has to worry about playing at Ball State and possibly losing. After this season, BSU is removing the grass field and installing an artificial surface.....probably Field Turf. That was one of their main advantages. We all know that Toledo doesn't play well on grass surfaces, especially in rainy conditions.

Might be cheaper in the long run, but being an athlete who has competed on the crap I must say it can be slippery where grass isn't and there seems to be an inordinate amount of wrist, arm, and shoulder injuries on the stuff.

Grass is the best surface to play football on IMO. No amount of technology or other reasoning is going to convince me otherwise. I'm a new technology type of guy, but sometimes old school is the way to go.rocketfootball wrote:Isn't it about time you guys enter the 21st century? The only MAC school left with grass. I've posted in the past that if we get rid of the grass for some fieldturf or whatever I'd stop going to the games. That's probably a touch extreme, but I'd find something to let my voice be heard. I cannot stand that artificial crap, and it all sucks. Yeah, the new is better than the old AstroTurf, but it still SUCKS. Football was meant for dirt & grass, PERIOD.

The wealthiest programs in our region -- Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan State -- continue to stick with grass.
Toledo can play on that cheap-ass plastic stuff if it wants.
We'll stick with grass, thank you very much.

Wrong again Shade. Michigan and Michigan State both play on artificial surfaces. Michigan did play on grass for like the past ten years, but they switched back to the artificial stuff last year.Schadenfreude wrote:I don't accept the premise.rocketfootball wrote:Isn't it about time you guys enter the 21st century?Falconfreak90 wrote:BGSU will have the only grass field in the MAC next year. Grass is fine if thats what you want to play on, but there is no need to rip another school for using the artificial stuff because your school can't afford to install it. Just makes you look envious.

It always comes back to envy for you TJ, doesn't it? Perhaps BG's Powers That Be like grass.
Re: UT vs Ball State
Yeah it must be envy. Why are Toledo fans so obsessed with that word?TJRocket wrote:
