Hoop troubles

Post by OSUFALCON »

Tomorrow you will read in the papers about some of the current issues on the BB team. Mawel Soler is not practicing with the team as of right now because Coach has kicked him out of the gym untill further notice. Lack of effort was sited as the reason. Brian Moten is not eligible this fall. He currently is only a part time student. He will need some serious work to be eligible by Winter. I hope better news is coming but it appears the team will have a rough start with all of this plus Stephen Wright out to start the season because of the ankle  .

Sorry but this isn't a joke. I would rather this happen now before the season starts. Let's hope this is the worst of it.

If this is true, I would be very disappointed in Moten not being able to play. When I was at Virginia, he was recruited there and if I am not mistaken, he was headed there before grade issues sidelined that avenue. He was thought to have been a huge steal for BG and I was really hoping to see him play. I also thought he could have been a great candidate to step in for Wright with his injury. Well, hopefully he can get his grades in order and get out there, Wright can get healthy and Soler can get back on the right track. "Hopefully" being the key word.

And I'm sure someone will try to say this is all Dakich's fault...

Story in today's Blade confirms what OSU Falcon reported above.

JUST MAYBE...OSU Falcons attended or knows someone who attended the media day yesterday.

Well, whether he did or didn't, he knows his stuff and I appreciate him passing along what he knows. I hate when people make a post telling part of a story and then leave you hanging. Either say something or don't post it at all. Thanks for the info OSUFalcon. I see Moten isn't listed on the roster on the website, but I really hope he gets his grades in order and can join up with the team soon.

Its in the Sentinel tonight, too.

"My senior is working his way back to be on the team," Dakich said. "I learned two years ago that I have to trust the senior. [Netter]. If the senior doesn't trust me, I don't care, but I've got to trust them.

"At this point right now he won't start practicing with us. I give him credit. He's working hard to regain that trust."

When asked about Soler's problems, Dakich said "while the team's agenda is to practice, his agenda is being somewhere else doing something else."
