I don't know where you're going that, but it actually took more like 3 hours to get there so I'm sorry that I actually had a couple of items ready to go. He had to signs a few things for like 2 other people there too so he's your average saint signing about 10 autographs before getting on the bus.
Hey, relax. Tricky_Falcon was just making a point... saying, basically, since he signed your stuff and posed for a picture, and as long as he wasn't rude to you or anything, what else did you want him to do to qualify as "nice"?

From what others have said, he tends to be a bit reserved and laid-back I suppose, so perhaps he came across as standoffish to you?

No worries, guys. Let's not kill the thread.

Bingo. That's why I think happened.

He's a good kid.

Omar wouldn't get excited if he won the lottery, it's just his demeanor, in fact he describes himself as "always on chill mood."

Like FliccGirl said it was nothing personal toward you. It has nothing to do with being "gay" I was just saying that I think three autographs and a picture is pretty generous of Omar. A lot of people would be happy to just meet the guy. It's nice that a student athlete would take the time to sign autographs. Omar is a very nice guy and a very laid back and quiet person maybe that's what you saw. I am certain Omar wasn't trying to be mean to you.

Ok, that's all you had to say in the first place rather than "oh I'm sorry you couldn't take him home with you". Come on. You're telling me if I said something stupid like to you you wouldn't take offense?

And yes, I do think he was generous, and I shouldn't have made him out to be so....uncool? Because it makes me seem ungrateful now where that wasn't my intention at all. It's just different with everyone I guess.

Yeah IF, no one is trying to demean you here. Reading Tricky's initial post I can see how you misread it, but he certainly wasn't trying to ostracize you. Please don't take it personally! Omar is a different breed, and, much like Tricky's post, he can be hard to read at times. This is why the commentators during the Boise St. game were commenting on how they were suprised that he was apparently showing no emotion on the sidelines. He is a great kid, but he may not be as comfortable with "celebrity" as many outstanding athletes would be. The funny thing is that our society so glorifies the notion of celebrity that it seems like a violation when a person seemingly rejects celelbrity.

I personally hope you hang out here for a long time since you've found us. Falcon Football is much more than Omar Jacobs (although we love him!), and I hope you can come to see that! :D

Yeah Omar is the one that opened my eyes to it, but I usually am partial to a team once I have a positive personal experience with them, so I will probably follow BG now. Besides Omar, Coach Brandon was really cool to me. Talked for a few minutes and seemed to appreciate the support at a visiting stadium. Sharon was a great guy too.

I wonder how long he will stay though? I've heard him rumored to be one of the next coaches in line for one of those big jobs.

I have gotten to the point that I'm not so sure Brandon would leave for anything but a winner with major dollars. I just don't think major dollars will get the job done with him. He has been a great coach here at BG and he has made a commitment to the University. I don't see him going anywhere next year, and if and when he does, I see him being open and honest about it (something we all will appreciate after the "Urban Experiment").

Anyhow, I'm glad you had a good experience with Brandon and Chuck. I hope you got Chukie's autograph - I personally expect to see him playing on Sundays very, very soon!

You mean Chuckie as in Charles Sharon? Yeah, I definently made it a point to get him. I got Sanders too. I personally like Sharon more though. I just like the smaller faster WRs.

As I mentioned, I'm a Syracuse fan, so that game was a great escape from the misery I otherwise would have faced in that Dome lol

Do you guys have anyone in line to replace Omar? I mean, you've gotta expect him to leave for the draft. If you guys have looked around the draft sites, his draft stock is as high right now as it will ever be.

And how! Anthony Turner, our current backup, looks to be in my eyes the perfect combination between Josh Harris and Omar Jacobs - a great runner with a great arm. Kind of like what Vince Young is turning out to be, but I personally think Turner will prove to be better in the long-run. Omar is going to be an outstanding Sunday quarterback, but Turner may turn out to be a better combo than Omar. That is, of course, heresay around these parts, but that is my impression.

Nice. I managed to get Turner too. Are you guys expecting Omar to leave? I mean, you guys would probably know better than anybody since you know him.

I don't know if anyone here *knows* him. I don't. I think we are all guessing.

The conventional wisdom in August was that he was a near lock to declare for the draft after the season.

I don't know if there is a conventional wisdom right now. But some of us think that if isn't slotted high enough in the draft, that he may stay if he thinks another year can get him slotted higher in the draft (which would mean a bigger signing bonus).

I've seen him slotted anywhere from 6 to no lower than 15. That's whyI thought his stock was high to where he should come out because he's almost certainly the 2nd QB off the board after Leinart, and that's even if Vince Young comes out too.
