Congrats again

Post by rocketfootball »

on beating Buffalo 27-7 today. I have heard that Buffalo's defense is pretty good this year and it looks like that is the case after today. Another good performance by the BG defense as well.

Toledo finally got past that "Muncie Curse" with a 34-14 win over Ball State today. We didn't play very well offensively and make some mistakes and once again had quite a few dropped passes. I wish our young receivers would learn how to catch the ball. We miss Lance Moore a lot at receiver. He caught everything in sight. The UT defense played very well. Only gave up 67 total yards in the first half and 190 total yards for the game. 7 of Ball State's points were on a blocked punt for a TD. Unfortunately Toledo has now had 3 punts blocked and returned for TD's this year. We have to fix that problem quickly.

Sounds familiar, unfortunately. :?

While I think Buffalo's defense might be overlooked a bit (at home, for sure), it sounds like Omar just wasn't hitting on his passes. After a point, I think the combination of a slow start and being on the road (where we've obviously struggled this year) hit a point where we were just there to survive, not impress the world with numbers. We survived, and still sit atop the East. Now we have two more home games to get things together and hopefully carry it into two straight on the road vs. Kent and Miami(OH). But first things first, getting at WMU next Saturday!

And you're right, MAJOR props again to the defense. Getting it done when the offense was stumbling. I didn't realize Mayberry forced the fumble, too. What a big day for Terrill!

Thanks again, Rf. I'll bet just getting that win in Muncie was good enough. Congrats on getting that outta the system. I know it wasn't pretty for BG but just keep winning.

Two unbeatens in the MAC....hmmm....

Buffalo's D was impressive....I don't know how they'll fare in the Glass Bowl but they play hard and have some talent. Their O? Not very good but watch out for that stud #44, Warren. 6'1" 270 lb RB....wow....

This Bulls team is dangerous cuz they have nothing to lose.

Before this thread turns into name-calling and giberish as it normally does, I just want to say that you, RF, are my favorite Toledo fan (see, I spelled it correctly just for you!). I, personally, feel that a rivalry is much more fun when it is congenial, and you are the closest thing to congenial I've ever seen. Thank you!

Believe me, I feel dirty for saying this. It is almost like kissing my mother in a wierd Oedipal kind of way.
