I was depressed Saturday morning as the Falcon flag football team took the field against Marshall. To summarize - let's say I left ecstatic and hoping that the real Falcons handle the Blundering Turd as well as these boys!
Highlight of the day: Marshall drove deep into Falcon territory but an incredible fourth down stop gave us the ball at the 10. The first two plays resulted in a loss of five yards. Pinned deep in our own end facing third and long, I look at our biggest playmaker, Brad, and ask him how far he can run. "I can run a long way, coach." Indeed. He took the ball, went right and took off downfield. Noah trailed him as a Marshall player closed in to make the tackle. Noah turned his shoulders and gave the kids a big push. "I don't think so," Noah said as the kid tumbled to the ground. Brad, of course, completed the 95-yard TD run untouched. The kid has scored practically every time he touched the ball.
We're off again until Saturday, which will be a nice warm-up for the Temple game.

That is a great one. With an attitude like that, I think that young man has a good future in front of him!1987alum wrote: I look at our biggest playmaker, Brad, and ask him how far he can run. "I can run a long way, coach."
Wish I could say things are going as well for my son's CYO team, but it's not.
