Of that list, I think the only game we should have won was the Toledo game. We had them on the ropes at the half and couldn't put them away. I also think we could have won the NIU game too, however I'm willing to overlook that loss as to the events that happened earlier in that week.

The OSU, Oklahoma, and Wisky (to some small extent), we were much closer in those games that we proably should have been. If we played those games 100 times, better than 75 we would never be in a position to possibly win.

Both Miami games, and the Boise game I think were no better than a coin flip situation to begin with, however I do feel that all of those games should have been closer. If I remember right, we were never really in a position to win any of those 3 games.

Can anyone honestly say that we have lost a game that we should have definitely won in his coaching stint?

Has he ever lost a game we were favored in?

How many other MAC coaches can you say that about? Can't say it about Amstutz, Montgomery or Novak over that same time frame.

His losses:
@ OSU
@ Miami
Miami - MACC
@ Oklahoma
@ NIU
@ Toledo
@ Wisconsin
@ Boise State

The only games we may have been favored in was the MACC and at NIU and that certainly would not have been by much!
This is a really good post, Tom. Those 8 losses were to tough teams and all but the MACC were on the road.

UT last year? We had that game won....but give credit to UT cuz they never stopped believing there were going to win. And they did.

We were favored by 4 in the 2004 UT game....basically a toss up, though.

Coach Brandon has made mistakes but he wins games. And Bowl games. And the MAC title in 2005. He has my 100% full support...except for that damn punt formation!!!

I think people need to lighten up just a bit on the guy. 24-8 is a 75% winning %. We need to win that big MAC road game. Oxford, 11/15.
