Actually, I was at the game. I even made mention that we were running the ball more from the start of the game and this was well before Omar's problems became evident. We didn't approach this game the same as we usually do by going to the air quick and often. I think it was a conscience effort and the bad passing and the wind made us run it that much more. I even thought it was obvious in the Ohio game that we were running the ball more.I don't think it was a matter of trying to fix our running game. If you were at the game or listened to the radio, I think you would agree that Omar was having an off day. That is why we ran the ball more often. Not because we made a concious effort to improve our run game.
If you go back to the Boise game, we had little success passing the ball (18 completions of 35 passes), but we still only ran our backs 14 times. In this game passing was almost identical (18 of 34), but hey ran 35 times. We also rushed 37 times in the Ohio game.
I do agree that O had an off day, but I also believe we have been making an effort to get the running game going. Brandon has even mentioned this is past interviews.
