Well, the Zips could really help BG out this weekend by beating NIU. I doubt it will happen, but I'll still be praying it will. After watching Akron here at Virginia a few weeks ago, I don't feel good about the Zips chances. I know UVa is very good, but Akron couldn't stop the run (sound familiar?) and couldn't run the ball either (had 6 total yards of rushing for the game!). If the Zips are to have a shot at winning, they've got to pass on almost ever down. I'm serious. The only way Akron is going to hang or beat NIU is by throwing the ball. They've got Charlie Frye, they need to use him....a lot!

NIU is a very solid team who is only now getting healthy. With the MAC as weak as it is, its going to take a huge upset for this team to lose.

Mind what you say there 33, you might give Akron hopes that they have a fan.

I wish Akron would improve more though. I'd like there to be a decent road-trip excuse in NE Ohio, that isn't at a school whose team appears as if it is sponsored by a Linux company.

Akron has a new defensive-minded coach. Maybe this is the week his system finally takes hold. We all know what Frye is capable of. Why not a breakout game!

If NIU loses two games and we blow it to Toledo and/or Marshall the rockettes will go bowling...

I don't see UT getting past Miami, and possibly one or two others. However, at this point, I simply care about our beating them. Just as long as we do, they can win every game they like.

I actually took a few classes at Akron before, so I guess it's okay to cheer for them sometimes, especially this weekend against NIU. Heck, I'll cheer for Toledo to beat NIU if it means BG gets back to the MACC and bowl game. Anything for my Falcons!

There's no heck about it, we NEED toledo to beat NIU, for to have any kind of a shot to the MACC game.
