BG FB on radio in Cleveland/Akron/Canton...

Post by Todd Walker »

I hope this post will clear up any confusion over what stations will carry BG football...

This is the info I have from Salem Communications concerning said subject...

Temple...WHKW 1220 AM
CMU...WHKW 1220 AM
Ball State...WHKW 1220 AM
Ohio...WHKW 1220 AM
EMU...WKNR 850 AM (will join in progress)
WMU...WHKW 1220 AM (will join in progress)
Marshall...WHKW 1220 AM
Toledo...TBD

Thanks for the interest. Those of you in the Cleveland area please let us know if there is any deviation from this schedule. Also, if anyone can give us an accuarte/real life account of the coverage area of 1220 AM it would be greatly appreciated. We feel it's very important to have an affiliate in NE Ohio and if we can demonstrate a solid following it makes it all the better when it comes to keeping them on the network. So let 'em know that you're listening and appreciate the coverage of BG in the Cleveland market.

Todd,

I have 1450 WLEC in Sandusky as the affiliate carrying BG games in that area? Just want to make sure I'll be able to listen to the game at Cedar Point. If I'm gonna stand in lines to ride, what better way than to be listening to the game??

AM 1220 comes in pretty much down to Canton...my dad can pick it up in Dover, about 80 miles south of Cleve on I 77.

BTW, the pregame show sounds great.

What about the Falcon's Nest Radio show

Todd,
I have been trying to catch the radio show on Monday's but it seems like it is not covered in its entirety by the network affiliates. Can you tell me what stations carry the show? FWIW, of the 18 presets on my car radio, I think the Tressell show is on at least 10 of them. :x

I don't think you'll have a problem getting 1220 at Cedar Point. I could be wrong.

WLEC doesn't pick up every game. It is also on the Buckeye radio network, and they carry other sports, too, I think... so don't assume anything.

You guys will have a blast! The Halloweekends are the best time to go to Cedar Point. They're not as terribly busy as they are in the summertime and they have some great haunted houses. The only downside is that a lot of the flatrides are not open. However, the coasters generally are.
