Why? WHy? Why?
Why would we ever bring our FG unit on to kick a 37 yd FG when we can't even make an XP?

Well, then apparently your friend is a better fan than you.jeremyp wrote:I wasn't by them but my friend told me after I left since he was over there.
I'm off to Arizona Stadium to watch my Wildcats lose a game they are supposed to. But I won't leave at halftime.

it wasn't even blocked
from where i was sitting, it looked like it hit an offensive lineman in the back.
if there's not open tryouts next week for a new kicker, i don't know what else it will take. there has got to be someone on the club soccer team that can kick better than the two jokers we have out there right now (and frankly, i don't care if they or their parents read this board and see that comment).

TO BILL BRASKY!!!!
And the short kickoffs don't help either. WMU would put it into the endzone when kicking North to South. We were lucky to get it inside the ten. And that was with the wind.
I think this just goes to show how little Brandon actually pays attention to special teams.

I could not believe what I was seeing. And it wasn't just us -- people were booing as the field goal team walked out tere.MAC Falcon wrote:Why would we ever bring our FG unit on to kick a 37 yd FG when we can't even make an XP?
It was the worst call I can remember out of Brandon. Remember, it was 21-6 at that point. Even if we had beaten the long odds and muscled that thing through the uprights, it didn't accomplish a whole lot.
Going for it -- even at fourth and ten -- seemed the higher percentage play.
I'm still very unhappy about that call.

The short kickoffs just baffle me. I watch high school kickers with as good if not better legs every friday night. There has to be some students at BG who were kickers in HS. I am also surprised that the kickoff return unit is so bad. It seems like something he would harp on since it is the closest thing to offense without it being offense. We have to be about the worst team in the country on kickoff returns. They could put Rob Warren back deep to receive and I think he would return it just as far.Warthog wrote:And the short kickoffs don't help either. Why, why, why are you a football fan when you obviously don't know the game?
Kicking has not lost us one game yet. Special teams and defense has lost the games (these are also known as coaching). Omar's turnovers have cost us more than any blocked or missed kick. I don't hear people cheering that he is out now for a while. Of course not! We want him back, but Turner will do a good job.
Please tell me there are smarter people out there on this board.
