The injury does not change due to score. Corey was emergency basis only. Parks breaks his leg and Ruben goes down on a kick off. (he did come back two series later) There are dropped balls all over the field. We are down a couple of TDs and the game is not out of reach. Looks like an emergency to me. Corey has made some plays during the season even when hurt. I can understand how a coach would ask a player if he can go. I don't have fault with Brandon asking him to play. If he can spark the offense and get us back in the game then so be it. These players care alot more than people give them credit.

Even Corey let one slide thru his fingers, it happens. He was very upset about that one and the obvious interference that wasn't called. Those could have made a big difference considering where they happened.

We will win against Akron and crush Kent. Then it will be decided in Oxford, I hope Omar can be back, but I still think AT can carry us through. You will see marked improvement in him next Saturday. He had some good streaks and then a off play or two. Once the consistency is there he will move the team. Brandon said 'like Josh Harris...'. He will mix the run and the pass.

It will happen, believe!

I see more of the reason Cory played with the Parks and Ruiz injuries, but I am baffled as to why Pope saw the field. He obviously is not himself, and is not going to heal if we keep sending him out there. I thought we were doing the right thing by rsting him a couple of weeks, but there he was, back on the field for a wasted series.

I don't have the time nor the inclination to read this entire post but I hate all the I heard this and I heard that. Either come with some facts or names and identify yourself or SHUT UP!

There is more than a handful of players on this team so please don't tie rumored actions of a few to the whole team.

The Spirit of Christmas future reared it's ugly head on Saturday. You hit the nail on the head. These players are figuring out what type of coaches we really have. After you get yelled at so many times there is only two ways to go - down deeper or laugh it off. Most of the players did the latter.

Do not even think that these guys don't care, they do. I just cringed Saturday when Coach Brandon came to Corey and asked him if he could go! There was no hesitation, Corey got up and put his helmet on. Even if he can't raise his arms above his head, he went in to try and produce, They want to win and they do have pride. Many are risking their health and well being to get into the game and try to win for BG and you fans. They deserve support.

What do you think it does to them, when they are down at halftime (and not necessarily an insurmountable margin) and they come out of the locker room and the stands have emptied. It kills whatever motivation they created while they are in there. At least stay until end of the 3rd quarter.

Many handle adversity in different ways. If some need to go out and blow some steam off then let them. They work extremely hard week in and week out. I know, I am very close to the situation, even closer now that Corey has been having so many physical problems. Try and remember these are young men in the 18-22 year range. They can't always overcome adversity, sometimes things begin to steam roll and can't be stopped no matter what efforts are made by the players or the coaches. Thats why they play the games, things happen and teams that are favored don't always win. And sometimes they get blown out.

We win the next 3 weeks and we are in the MACC and most likely a bowl game. That was the goal in the beginning and it is still in our hands.

After a week of taking all the reps in practice AT will rise up and beat Akron and he will be even better the following week at Kent. It will all be decided in Oxford and in case you didn't notice Miami is not setting the world on fire either. The MAC is much more competitive than it has been in awhile and that is good for the conference. There aren't any teams in the MAC that you can take for granted, cause they will come in and kick you in the shins if you do.

And yes, I actually took Corey out Saturday after the game. Say what you want, he needed that, he was very depressed and down. Both physically and mentally. We had some fun and did alot of talking, It seems to have re-energized him toward football, his physical therapy and his school work. Oh yeah, that's right, these guys have to do school work too. How do they find enough time in the day. And people question their dedication and desire. Give me a break.

This what we lack big time. A big rauchous crowd to help the D get some motovation for getting a stop, there was none of that cuz everyone on the East side and some on the West side just took off and left cuz they probably realized and figured the game was all but over. If Ohio St is playing a game like this , this where their d come out and dominates the game fueled by a large loud crowd. It sure doens't help at all when 25% of the crowd takes off at halftime. If anything people should show up at halftime since its FREE and try to cheer the guys back into the game.

But this handwriting has been on the wall for a while now. Its like the fans were just expecting or waiting for an excuse to leave. It was sad to see so many people leaving right at halftime but what else can we do? Anyone else think this Sebo Center fantasy will become a reality? I think its obvious that project is all but over.

One of the purposes of the Sebo Center is to ensure meltdowns like last Saturday never happen again. If anything, there is a greater sense of urgency and a greater pull on people to give what needs to be given to get the thing up as quickly as possible.

Maybe I'm being silly, but anyone that shows up at halftime solely because "it's FREE" has no place to complain about A) attendance numbers or B) fundraising issues.

WMU game is over. Thank goodness.

The most important practice week of the season is underway.

We are playing at home.

We have had tremendous student support all season. They only go home when we are up 24 or down 24.

We are in a must win situation against a divisional team that has been up and down all year- like the Falcons.

Several key players on offense are unavailable.

We have lots of good players on offense who must focus extra hard this week and succeeding weeks as necessary to support a QB making his first collegiate start. I ask Sharon and Sanders (the best WR tandem in the history of BG football) to personally step up with all offensive teammates and get them ready. The same with R Warren who has worked so very, very hard to get to this point. Saturday is THE DAY.

We have defensive players with loads of experience who have played hard for years who need to DIG DOWN and HIT, TACKLE and COVER. The following seniors have done it and can do it: Piepkow, Thaler, Cooley, Johnson, Jordan, Mayberry et al. I personally ask for their best and their coaches best. These man are true Falcons and Saturday is THE DAY.

I support every Falcon player and coach. It is a team game and as long as they wear the orange and brown, I am behind all of them 100%. Speculation is for losers and those who enjoy jumping on folks when down. When the season concludes, the program is evaluated by the right people. This year, last year, next year.

The Sebo Center will be a great addition for us and we are tracking right along as I understand it. Please click on the appropriate spot on our Athletic Dept website and send your contribution to name and address noted. Step up and help and the faster this tremendous facility (and yes- recruiting advantage) is moved along.

We need the support and, if possible, presence of EVERY Falcon football fan this Saturday at the Doyt. Change plans if busy. Invite the neighbors. Now is the time to bring more people, get louder, get crazier, help our team. Don't go negative; go Falcon crazy. Get there, get loud, have fun. This is college football. This is our team. They need us. Saturday is THE DAY.

Won't be easy; nothing worthwhile ever is.

And by "you people," you mean me. JHC, I think it was pretty clear in that thread that it was written in the middle of the game. I was asking the question because it seemed to me from the radio broadcast that Sharon and Sanders weren't much of a factor. I was corrected and given some better info. and we all moved on. And no, I didn't see those catches, because, when games are not on TV I have about 3000 miles and a HUGE FRIGGIN' DESERT blocking my view. No need to go throwing crap in my face for asking a question.

I am glad to see some of the rest of you finally coming down off of the meds after this weekend. Spart, I thank you so very, very much for your info and insight. It is not often that the parent of a player is willing to share the experience with fans of the team, and I appreciate it very, very much. You make this whole experience very real for all of us. I hope some folks can learn not to take your insight for granted around here. People are just pissed, and understandably so. Tell Corey that we are all pulling for him, and that he has a HUGE fan in Tucson. I hope I can shake his hand when I'm home for the Toledo game.

Yes, Redwingtom, these are kids and it is just a game, and they're students too. In this particular game, however, there is a lot of pride/ego/bragging rights etc. at stake ---- that's the way it has always been with football. When you think about Notre Dame, what's the first thing that comes to mind. And I might add, that money is an issue as well. I bought season tickets to be entertained, not consistently disappointed. And these kids, by the way, are paid thousands of dollars to do a job, and the coaches (the play directors), are paid extraordinary sums of money to "insure" a good performance. So when the fat lady forgets her lines, the intertainee has a right to be disappointed and let off steam. It happens everywhere. ------ If BG can get through the next three games (and that doesn't look probable if their defense continues to play the way they have been) then the doubting Thomas' (like me) will calm down a bit. Otherwise, we'll probably stay in our cretique mode; there is nothing wrong with that.
