Do you all still play the visiting team's gight song at each pre-game? That was always fun...making up alternate words to each fight song

Well, sorry FMBers. Miami already has it's OWN alternate words to Love and Honor. And OhioU has alternate words. They are simply cramming as many curse words into Love and Honor as possible. (Eat S#!* and Die Miami!)

If you define the term "play" very loosely, then yes.

And we still have alternate words to a few choice (ie, rival) fight songs, such as:

"We know three notes! (you suck!)"

and

"This is the Miami fight song, this is how it goes..." etc.

Ah, it's the little things...

"This is the Miami fight song, this is how it goes..."
Weak. I woulda thought BG sould come up with better.

But, I guess I was wrong. But no Defense cracks here. I'll leave those things as they are.... self-evident.

"This is the Miami Fight Song!

This is the Miami Fight Song!
Man it really Blows!"

The next strain has something to do with her losing her honor in Miami, but I can't remember exactly how it ends. Someone help me out please!

Ha, I guess I learned the clean version. The rest of the version I learned, finishes,

"This is the Miami Fight Song!
It sounds just like the rest
of all the other [or "MAC team"] fight songs,
except ours is the best!"

And, yes, the band up north's little first-down ditty is as Jackie cited above. For their actual fight song, we usually just sing, "I've been workin' on the railroad".... because it fits in perfect harmony, the whole way through. (A fact which I gleefully demonstrated to my sister, a UT band alum.... it was a beautiful moment.)

Incidentally... tell anyone who's visiting for the first time that the FMB's show for this week is NOT WHAT NORMALLY HAPPENS.

There's not really any real drill... we're marching from concert set to concert set, and halting for long stretches in between, except for like two or three real sets at the end. (And oh.... you better believe there's a band dance. We learned it today. )

In other words-- it's like I said before. It's a One-Week Wonder. Don't hold it against us.

After I learned the dance, I was like, hey, this is a really cool dance!! And then I heard a lot of people saying that they think it's dumb or stupid, and I thought to myself, hmm, maybe I just think that it's an awesome dance because pretty much any dance would look awesome compared to the Hu-To dance... :P

It's not bad. It's just very..... dance-team-ish. And the band looks hilariously white and geeky trying to do it. I'm sure you will enjoy.

don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the occasional moment to "bust a move" if you will...but I feel like such a dork. I'm glad I have over 200 of my closest friends out there with me.

Did anyone else feel like they were an extra in Bring It On? lol
